The Decision Scientist is a perfect place for analytically minded individuals who enjoy a more consultative / customer-facing approach to creating value. Our team’s mission is simple – increase self-service within pharmacy patients and reduce load on pharmacists. While the mission is simple, the problem space is vast.  How are patients engaging with pharmacy? When are they using self-service v/s approaching the pharmacist for help? What are areas where they can self-service and through which channel? What are current barriers? The list of analytic questions just keeps going.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key individual contributor on large and complex projects involving multiple stakeholders leveraging a diverse range of technical and non-technical skills.
  • Ability to find opportunities to enhance patient journey and patient education to enable self-service. Ability to structure data analysis, driving analytics insights and analytical solutions to help determine the best analytical solution
  • Understand digital product lifecycle and recommend enhancements to enable self-service and increase patient experience
  • Ability to identify opportunities to enhance and build data assets to enable new analytics and modeling solutions.
  • Develop and present meaningful and insights-driven materials on analytical results with recommendations and go forward planning to guide a variety of audiences including internal stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Develop and maintain relationships with wide range of stakeholders including business partners, IT, other analytic teams, engineering, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience working in data science with a track record of delivering insights and business impact
  • 3+ years of experience strategy consulting or on strategy teams in large companies
  • 3+ years of expertise using data science, programming, and visualization tools such as Snowflake, SQL, cloud-based ML Ops tech stack
  • Proficient in SQL and Python
  • Experience building and utilizing experimentation framework (e.g., A/B testing) to measure performance of deployed models
  • Experience with Git for version control

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare sector experience preferred
  • Experience in digital product analytics
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to anticipate and prevent project roadblocks before they occur
  • Demonstrates strong ability to communicate technical concepts and implications to business partners
  • Demonstrates proficiency in most areas of mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, statistical analyses, and predictive modeling and in-depth specialization in some areas


  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
  • Master's degree in quantitative field strongly preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$103,500.00 - $200,000.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
