Director, Product Development, Equipment & Accessories (Global TNF)

What you will do

You will oversee, lead, and develop Equipment & Accessories technical design teams at TNF bringing a balance of both technical skillset and leadership qualities to elevate the team. While you and your team are responsible for all seasonally created products by ensuring they meet fit expectations, you will also monitor block and grade standards, vendor quality, fit consistency, and ensuring teams are meeting deliverables on time. You will inspire innovation and excellence within construction and fit while working collaboratively with cross functional partners to create industry leading products for both on and off mountain. You will lead, coach, drive and inspire a highly technical team.
How You Will Make a Difference:

• You bring and excel at training others in understanding fit, construction, measuring and evaluating samples, workmanship, function, and production feasibility in Equipment & Accessories
• Guide and monitor fit process to ensure intended fit is met, collaborating with Design, Merchandising and other teams while ensuring consistency within all blocks and grades
• Proactively evaluate potential QC issues during each stage of development and again at salesperson sample stages, instructs team to communicate findings and action accordingly
• Strong understanding of how to read and correct patterns through software or other methods
• You are a 3D advocate for efficiency and advancement and help teams utilize new methods of working to improve development processes
• Benchmark fit and quality standards against other key competitors to ensure best in class fit and construction
• Improve fit and quality with consideration for customers comments, feedback, and understanding of competition
• Support and drive to evolve TD operations, methods and efficiencies
• Travel to sourcing offices and/or factories to work with technical teams at the source
• Mentor and assist team with fittings as needed
• Manage short, mid and long-term projects while providing regular updates to key stakeholders
• Ensure your team can executive effectively by clearly defining and aligning on the right scope, briefs, budget and deliverables, while mobilizing the right resources to achieve the required level of quality
• Ensure you and your team remain current with new innovations, technologies, equipment, research, and processes in Equipment & Accessories
• Partner with HR to recruit and onboard top talent, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and capabilities to drive success

What You Will Bring:

• Degree in tech design, patternmaking, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years of experience in technical design and minimum of 5 years managerial experience
• Fluent in English, any other language is a plus
• Strong cross functional teams working relationships with design, merchandising, materials, costing, sourcing, and production
• Knowledge of computer patternmaking and 3D fit technology
• Experience communicating with vendors overseas is required
• Experience in Global markets regarding fit conversion, grade, and size charts
• Strong ability to inspire and build a mindset and culture of innovation within your team and beyond 
• Experience leading others and upskilling talent
• Strong project planning and management skills, ability to develop and manage multiple timelines and deadlines
• Proactive approach to identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best solutions with a values driven commitment to do what is right

Hiring Range:

$152,064.00 USD - $190,080.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
