Job Description Summary:
This full time position will work 7 days on/7 days off, hours are 7:30pm-7:00am. Well qualified candidates will split time completing medication histories and working in central pharmacy.Successfully fulfills the criteria and experience profile for Certified Pharmacy Technician, in addition to the responsibilities outlined in this job description. Demonstrates technical, communication, and leadership skills necessary to support team members in their area of specialty. Maintains a proficient area through process improvement and operational efficiency. Participates in reciprocal communication with departmental and health-system peers and management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, GED or foreign school diploma equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma (Required)
CPHT – Certified Pharmacy Technician
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
Years of experience: 2 years in hospital or retail pharmacy hospital OR leadership experience/equivalent experience in pharmacy care activities
Obtain and maintain certifications/competencies in area of expertise as applicable within 90 days of hire as outlined in policy and procedures
IV area specialist
Automation technology specialist
Controlled substances support specialist
Patient care support specialist, including medication reconciliation
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, medical terminology, and various drug names.
