Job Description Summary:

Responsible for safe, timely and accurate transport and delivery of medications. Meets OhioHealth Service Excellence Standards of Behavior; performs proper utilization of body mechanics; adheres to OhioHealth policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Strong customer service knowledge and skills; effective communication skills, especially personal interactive skills; ability to function in team-oriented work environment; use of product tracking tools. successful completion of a criminal background check. Transport, supply chain or other hospital Experience preferred

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification, completion of ASHP accredited pharmacy technician training program Computer data entry Previous transport, supply chain or other hospital experience

INFORMATION SECURITY
Maintains confidentiality of log-on password(s) and security of other authentication devices (e.g., key fobs, proximity devices, etc.).
Ensures privacy and security of information entrusted to their care.
Uses company business assets and information resources for management-approved purposes only.
Adheres to all information privacy and security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Promptly reports information security incidents to the OhioHealth Information Security Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Care of Patients Ensures safe, timely and accurate transport of medications to the proper destination. Responds to and prioritizes all transport requests appropriately. Utilizes proper body mechanics when lifting and transferring medications and other supplies. Utilizes software programs, devices or processes to accurately document delivery processes and for problem-solving medication location questions or issues. Stocks and/or returns medications to proper inventory location.

Customer Service Reports to work on time and begins job duties immediately. Meets and maintains attendance standards in accordance with current fair scheduling guidelines Complies with system, hospital and department policies and procedures. Provides prompt and courteous telephone response. Shows willingness to assist co-workers with completion of tasks and work scheduling arrangements. Provides prompt and timely response to task assignments. Follows all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements for storage, security, disposal and recordkeeping of drugs.

Information Management Effectively operates pharmacy information and other automated systems. Reports problems related to operation of computers, printers, and other electronic equipment in the department to the appropriate personnel when needed. Communicates promptly any problems and attempts to resolve with fellow associates in a professional manner. Reports all unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisor. Follows all proper channels of communication Processes all assigned reports and information tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

Improving Performance Supports and/or participates in organizational performance to continuously improve patient outcomes and/or processes, including special projects. Performs required monitoring of assigned stock areas for medication returns and expiration dates Utilizes resources in a cost effective manner. Supports department, hospital and system leadership along with promoting teamwork

Environment of Care -Attends and/or completes all required or assigned training and education -Maintains a safe work environment and takes steps to report potential hazards. -Reports any accident, incident or unusual occurrence without prompting and completes any required reporting in accordance with current policy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, reach with hands and arms reach; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The associate is regularly required to kneel and climb and occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific Vision abilities required by this job include close Vision, distance Vision, color Vision, peripheral Vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work environment: The noise level in the Work environment: is usually quiet.
