Leidos Security currently has an opening for a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) in San Antonio, Texas.  Leidos develops and integrates high-end intelligence and defense solutions that support a wide range of government customers.  The person selected for the position will be responsible for the continued certification of secure facilities and systems in accordance with the Cognitive Security Authority’s direction.  

As a recognized CSSO with Intelligence Community customers the selectee must demonstrate knowledge in all disciplines of industrial security to include program, personnel, and physical security.  The individual selected will serve as the primary functional security representative for this Leidos location.  The selectee must be a self-starter and have ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.

Primary duties/responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of onsite security management of the facility to include direct support to programs and staff for physical security, access control, alarm maintenance and response, subcontractor oversight, and document control/maintenance of classified equipment inventories.

  • The selectee is responsible for implementing the industrial security program and ensuring company and customer security requirements are met.   

  • Assist with maintaining an operational Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF), support classified meetings; perform security incident inquiries and periodic self-inspections.

  • Able to understand and communicate various customer personnel security clearance processes to employees and management.

  • Daily interaction with the contract security guard force, ensuring access control and visitor control procedures are communicated, understood, and followed.

  • Conduct initial, refresher, and termination security briefings in addition to foreign travel and other specific briefings as required.

  • Review, assess, and implement necessary revisions to the SCIF Standards, Practices and Procedures (SPP) and associated internal procedures for the assigned SCIF or other classified facilities according to guidance from the Cognizant Security Authority (CSA) and applicable federal regulations such as IC Tech Spec-for ICD/ICS 705, other applicable ICDs or the NISPOM.

  • Oversee system for controlling and tracking classified information to include properly receiving, marking, storing and transmitting electronic and hard copy documentation in accordance with customer requirements.  

  • As a Prime Contractor, process, update, and maintain customer required security documentation for subcontractors

  • Candidates must be able to successfully interact with executive leadership as well as all other levels of employees and customers and must possess the ability to perform complex security tasks independently and in a team environment while delivering measurable results. 

  • Candidates must be able to perform in a dynamic and fast paced environment accounting for routine and ad-hoc support requests while ensuring compliance with established company and government policies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience in SCIF administration, policies and procedures.

  • Broad knowledge base and ability to apply knowledge to solve complex security problems.

  • Possess mature organizational skills, an ability to prioritize tasks, flexible to changing priorities and can perform in a multi-tasked fast paced environment.

  • Thorough understanding of DOD and IC personnel security requirements and ability to apply Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 and NISPOM guidance to the facility’s security plans and procedures.

  • Possess knowledge of Access Control Systems and Intrusion Detection Systems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally with all levels of personnel and management


Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years related work experience or additional experience in lieu of degree.
 

Clearance Requirements: ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph

Pay Range:

Pay Range $75,400.00 - $136,300.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
