The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking an Air Traffic Control Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of the FAA Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Office of Safety and Technical Training (AJI) customers.
The SME will design training material for the Ten, Eleven, Twelve Radar Assessment (TETRA), TRACON Skill Enhancement Workshop (TSEW) and RTF (Radar Training Facility) courses. The SME will use their expertise to ensure technical accuracy of AJI training products, assist in compliance with new training requirements, and maintain currency of technical information.
This positions requires up to 25% of travel.
Primary responsibilities:
Providing analytical feedback and recommendations for technical training products, courseware, materials and programs for FAA/AJI customers, employees, or field support personnel.
Obtaining information from the customer and technical organizations, engineering, software and product requirements to prepare training programs.
Assisting in planning, assessment, and quality reviews.
Assisting in the design and review for technical accuracy of product demonstrations.
Basic qualifications
Requires BS degree and 12 + years of FAA Air Traffic Control (ATC) Terminal experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
10 years of FAA Air Traffic Control (ATC) experience on both the Terminal and En Route domains.
2 to 4 years of experience as a FAA staff specialist.
Working knowledge and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Power Point.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred qualifications
Experience at diverse terminal facility levels.
FAA Management experience, preferably 2nd level or above.
Staff experience at an FAA MSS Level 3 or higher, or as an FAA Staff Manager.
FAA Headquarters experience.
Experience as an ATC OJT Instructor or Training Specialist.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $94,250.00 - $170,375.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
