Leidos is seeking a Material Planner Intern in Reston, VA.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are excited to announce our opening for a Material Planner Intern on our Strategic Sourcing team in our Reston, VA location! This person will be responsible for supporting the material acquisition plans for multiple programs within the Leidos Defense and Intelligence Business Lines. Must have the ability to work with Programs in generating material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish. Individual will be interfacing with Vendors, Logistics, Receiving, and Strategic Sourcing to ensure program milestones are met. The most successful candidate will have a desire to be a part of a team, enjoy hard work and learn on the job from a team of talented professionals.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Works with Program team to ensure a streamlined procurement process of materials against program requirements.
-Candidate must have the ability to work with programs in generating material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish.
-Maintains reports and monitors material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
-Coordinates forecasts, workload, expediting, and acquisition priority with commodity/category team leadership.
-Engages supply chain (vendor to manufacturing) to determine optimal acquisition strategy.
-Complete special projects with multi-functional teams. Manages production and delivery schedules.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics, Business Admin, Finance, or related field
-Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under tough time constraints
-Effective verbal and written communication skills
-Intermediate Excel experience (Pivot Tables, Charts, v-Lookups, Bar Charts)
-U.S. Citizenship is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Minimum GPA 3.0
Pay Range:
Pay Range $36,400.00 - $65,800.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
