WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

This role sits within Global Apparel PCC and partners closely with Design, Product Management, Materials Development, Sourcing, Manufacturing Partners, Color Quality, Operations and vendors. The Senior Color Developer contributes technical leadership, mentors teammates and helps strengthen color excellence across the product creation process.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

NIKE is looking for a technically strong, curious and collaborative Senior Color Developer who can lead complex apparel color development from concept through commercialization. This person combines deep knowledge of color science, dyeing technologies, color standards and colorfastness with sound judgement, clear communication and independent problem-solving. The successful candidate is comfortable managing multiple seasonal priorities, identifying risk early and influencing cross-functional and vendor partners with data-driven recommendations. They bring a continuous-improvement mindset and are energized by digital transformation, including the use of analytics, connected systems and responsible AI-enabled solutions to improve color prediction, matching, tracking and workflow efficiency.

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile, Color Science, Chemistry, Apparel or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • 5+ years of relevant color development, textile coloration or apparel product creation experience.
  • Strong understanding of color science, dyeing technologies, spectrophotometry, color standards, lab-dip evaluation and colorfastness requirements.
  • Experience with PLM, DataColor, Natific or equivalent color-development systems, plus proficiency in Excel, Tableau or similar analytics tools.
  • Strong project management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to mentor others and manage multiple seasons and priorities.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

You will lead end-to-end color development for assigned apparel dimensions, translating creative intent into achievable, consistent and commercially ready color executions. You will use technical expertise, data and digital tools to improve predictability, manage risk and deliver Buy Ready milestones.

  • Lead seasonal color development, including color achievability, lab-dip review and approval, special effects and execution across materials and manufacturing locations.
  • Partner with Design, Product Management, PCC, Sourcing, Color Quality, Operations and Manufacturing Partners to align priorities, resolve issues and maintain development momentum.
  • Identify and mitigate color, performance, quality and commercialization risks; lead root-cause analysis, exception management and corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure relevant testing and colorfastness validation are completed for the intended end use and that approvals meet Product Creation Calendar and Buy Ready milestones.
  • Own accurate color-development records, trackers and stakeholder reporting; use analytics and dashboards to identify trends, bottlenecks and opportunities.
  • Drive digitalization of color workflows, lab-dip tracking, approvals and standards, and explore responsible AI applications for prediction, matching optimization, and workflow automation.
  • Influence through technical expertise and data-driven recommendations, while mentoring teammates, sharing best practices and supporting supplier capability improvement.
