WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for an imaginative, hands-on Experiential Expert to help bring Nike’s stories to life through spaces, experiences, and activations across North America.
You think spatially, have a strong design point of view, and can translate a creative concept into a physical experience. You bring an understanding of how people move, gather, and participate. You have an eye for the materials, graphics, and details that make an experience memorable. You’re curious about sport and culture, connected to New York, and excited to create work that invites people in.
- Bachelor’s degree in design or related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience at a creative agency, experiential studio, architecture or exhibition practice, or an in-house brand design team.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and compelling experiential, spatial, or environmental design.
- The ability to connect storytelling, graphic design, and physical space into a cohesive experience.
- Proficiency in Rhino or SketchUp for 3D modeling; Adobe Illustrator; Photoshop; Figma. Experience using Vizcom and other AI visualization tools to quickly explore concepts, materials, and spatial ideas.
- An understanding of materials, fabrication, and how designs get built.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to explain your ideas clearly.
- A collaborative, resourceful approach and comfort working across multiple projects.
- A passion for sport, youth culture, and New York’s creative communities.
- A strong network of freelance creatives and agencies to bring in on a project basis.
- An appetite to challenge the norm with fresh ideas and future-forward thinking.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Develop concepts and designs for experiences, installations, retail doors, and community events.
- Translate creative briefs into spatial ideas, consumer journeys, layouts, and design systems.
- Communicate ideas through sketches, mood boards, 3D models, renders, and presentations.
- Design across scales, from a single interactive element to a fully realized environment.
- Explore materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, signage, and fabrication techniques.
- Partner with producers, agencies, and fabricators to carry designs from concept through installation.
- Adapt designs to different locations, budgets, and production requirements while maintaining the creative vision.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will report to the New York-based Experience Director and collaborate with a team of art and narrative leads, designers, writers, and producers. You will also work closely with external creative agencies, spatial designers, architects, and fabrication partners on an as-needed basis.
We offer a number of accommodations to complete our interview process including screen readers, sign language interpreters, accessible and single location for in-person interviews, closed captioning, and other reasonable modifications as needed. If you discover, as you navigate our application process, that you need assistance or an accommodation due to a disability, please complete the Candidate Accommodation Request Form.
