Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Software Engineering Intern/Co-Op to join our team! In this role you will get to learn from brilliant engineers and participate in all steps of the software engineering process.

3 month and 6 month internships are available with flexible start/end dates.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design
• Ensure the conversion of requirements, including informal ones, into total systems solutions that balance the technical, schedule, and cost constraints of the program
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Write real-time/stream/batch processing software
• Develop scalable, web-based data visualization and analytic platforms using Java, Spring, servlets, Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines, microservices, message brokers, and scalable databases (Hadoop, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL)
• Learn front-end programming with TypeScript, Angular, and/or React.
• Build and deploy software using Python, Gradle, Docker, Vagrant, Ansible, Maven, and/or Bash.

Required Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Qualified candidate must be in progress of obtaining a BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline. (A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.)
• Experience working in a Linux development environment

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Knowledge of networking concepts including the OSI model, creating/maintaining computer networks, and analyzing network artifacts.
• Deployment experience with Ansible, Gradle, Docker, and/or Vagrant
• Structured Query Language (SQL) experience for example with MySQL or PostgreSQL
• NoSQL experience for example with Hadoop, Elasticsearch, or MongoDB
• Spring Boot, Tomcat, or Jakarta experience, especially with gRPC and REST
• Git experience
• Scripting experience for example with Python, Bash, or Shell
• In addition to back-end experience, front-end (full-stack) development experience with:
  • Angular and/or React
  • PatternFly, Clarity, and/or Material-UI

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $22.93 - $40.14
