Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a talented DevSecOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support the development, integration, testing, and deployment of applications within tactical edge and mission-focused environments. You will apply your experience with application integration, automation, containerization, orchestration, and secure software delivery to provide reliable capabilities for U.S. Government customers.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Translate customer and mission requirements into integrated technical solutions while meeting program schedules, security requirements, and technical constraints.
  • Work within an Agile development environment using DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
  • Develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain applications that support tactical and mission-focused environments.
  • Build, operate, and maintain automated deployment pipelines for development, staging, testing, and production environments.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, sprint demonstrations, integration events, and after-action reviews.
  • Develop and integrate scalable software solutions that support user testing, evaluation, and operational deployment.
  • Develop, document, and execute comprehensive integration and test procedures.
  • Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, container, automation, and deployment issues.
  • Conduct peer reviews of software code, configurations, infrastructure-as-code, and automation scripts.
  • Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, including software design documents, deployment procedures, operational guides, and user-focused documentation.

Required Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline and 5+ years of relevant professional experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government, Department of Defense (DoD), or other cleared environments.
  • Proficiency with DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies and practices.
  • Experience developing and operating applications in Linux environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu.
  • Experience with scripting and software development technologies such as Bash, Shell, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with YAML and JSON.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong software integration, troubleshooting, and testing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and software development teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and operational stakeholders to translate mission requirements into effective technical solutions.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • SAFe Agile training or certification, such as Agile Software Engineer, SAFe for Teams, or SAFe for Government.
  • Experience developing, deploying, or supporting applications in DoD tactical edge environments.
  • Experience with cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with data parsing, data ingestion, and data transformation methodologies.
  • Experience with Representational State Transfer (RESTful) web services and enterprise Application Programming Interface (API) design and integration.
  • Web development experience with an emphasis on User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX).
  • Experience implementing security controls within DevSecOps pipelines.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and secure software development practices.
  • Experience supporting disconnected, disrupted, intermittent, and limited-bandwidth (DDIL) environments.
  • Familiarity with Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), tactical communications, or mission command systems.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $181,100.00
