About the Role
Join the team building the next generation of OMEN Gaming Hub, HP’s software platform for gaming PCs and accessories. OMEN Gaming Hub brings gaming-related features together in one place, helping users personalize their gaming experience and manage supported system and device settings.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll help shape and deliver the platform’s future. You’ll design and build reliable desktop software using C#, .NET, WPF, and Avalonia, and collaborate with a cross-functional team working in Scrum. We use GitHub for source control and Jira to manage tasks and bugs.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain features for the next generation of OMEN Gaming Hub.
- Build desktop user experiences using C#, .NET, WPF, and/or Avalonia.
- Contribute to technical design, code reviews, debugging, and software quality.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teammates to turn requirements into well-designed features.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies and use Jira and GitHub as part of the development workflow.
- Help improve the architecture, performance, and maintainability of the software.
Education & Experience Recommended
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in systems engineering, computer programming language, or a related field.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience with C# and .NET.
- Experience developing desktop applications with WPF and/or Avalonia.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design, software architecture, and maintainable code.
- Experience with debugging, testing, and improving software quality.
- Comfortable collaborating through GitHub and working in a Scrum environment with Jira.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with both WPF and Avalonia, or with modernizing desktop applications.
- Familiarity with Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA SDKs and APIs for hardware control or overclocking.
- Experience communicating with USB RGB components using HID commands or similar device protocols.
- Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD practices.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools or “vibe coding” workflows, with care taken to validate generated code.
