WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Infrastructure Engineer joins the Client Engineering team and partners with IT and cross-functional teams to keep the technology Athletes* rely on secure, reliable, and high-performing. Reporting to the Manager, Client Engineering, this role owns the endpoint estate end to end across two connected environments: mobile endpoints, including handheld and vehicle-mounted devices used throughout the workplace, and fixed endpoints, including ThinClient devices and label printers at workstations and operational lines.

Client Engineering supports Athletes* across distribution, corporate, and retail environments. The role will initially focus on the distribution landscape, where the team’s most significant work is planned for the coming years. The standards established in this role will scale across the broader endpoint estate, creating opportunities to expand into corporate and retail environments as the team’s scope evolves.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The team is looking for an engineer who can connect mobile and fixed endpoint environments and establish consistent standards across the full estate. These endpoints support the same Athletes*, applications, and operations, making a unified approach essential. The role offers a broad, high-impact remit. A successful candidate may bring deeper expertise in one area and will have the team’s support, established platforms, and opportunities to build capability across the other.

The ideal candidate brings sound judgement, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach. They use automation to simplify work, strengthen reliability, and deliver consistent outcomes in a fast-moving operational environment.

• Proven experience in endpoint or infrastructure engineering, with strong expertise in mobile or fixed endpoints and the motivation to build capability across both

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

• Experience with mobile endpoint technologies, including Mobile Device Management systems, Android APK testing and validation, and automated application delivery

• Experience with fixed endpoint technologies, including ThinClient systems such as IGEL, label printers such as ZEBRA, and desktop configuration and migration

• Experience supporting business-critical applications on managed endpoints in operational environments where uptime matters

• Scripting and automation skills, with the ability to use AI-assisted engineering tools effectively; Cursor is part of the team’s daily toolchain

• Working knowledge of endpoint security, risk management, and compliance standards

• Interest in declarative, version-controlled configuration management, including GitOps, as the team builds toward this future-state approach

• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

You will design, implement, and maintain the endpoint infrastructure that powers daily operations. Your work will give Athletes* secure, reliable, and high-performing technology, whether they are using a mobile device or working at a fixed workstation.

• Own the configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management of mobile devices, ThinClient devices, and label printers across the endpoint estate

• Manage automated application delivery and integration across mobile and ThinClient platforms, improving reliability and the user experience

• Test and validate Android APKs to confirm compatibility, performance, and security

• Build automated solutions for device configuration, desktop configuration, and migration, applying consistent engineering standards across mobile and fixed endpoints

• Use virtualisation, scripting, and AI-assisted tools to improve flexibility, scalability, and engineering efficiency

• Advance endpoint configuration management toward a declarative, version-controlled model

• Implement and monitor endpoint security controls, maintaining consistent compliance across mobile and fixed devices as standards evolve

• Ensure timely provisioning, hardware availability, and system uptime across the endpoint estate

• Resolve complex technical issues and manage upgrades and ongoing maintenance, serving as a trusted escalation point across device types

• Simplify and strengthen user access and permission management

• Maintain device compatibility with emerging technologies and translate relevant trends into practical improvements
