Key Responsibilities

1. Network Infrastructure

• Implement, configure, maintain, and support LAN and wireless network environments.

• Manage and support Cisco routers, switches, and related network infrastructure.

• Manage and support HPE Aruba wireless and network infrastructure.

• Configure and maintain FortiGate firewalls and related security infrastructure.

• Support network connectivity between production sites, offices, servers, and other infrastructure.

• Support VLAN, routing, switching, and network segmentation activities.

• Perform network capacity and performance assessments when required.

2. Network Monitoring and Operations

• Monitor network infrastructure performance, availability, bandwidth utilization, latency, packet loss, and connectivity using Valeo monitoring tools such as MoVI.

• Proactively investigate monitoring alerts and network abnormalities.

• Conduct regular network health checks .

• Identify potential network issues before they impact business operations.

• Maintain high network availability and reliability.

• Perform daily network operational tasks and ensure timely resolution of issues.

3. Incident Management and Troubleshooting

• Respond to network incidents according to defined SLA and operational procedures.

• Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, switching, wireless, firewall, VPN, and performance-related issues.

• Analyze network logs, monitoring information, packet captures, and device diagnostic information.

• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major or recurring network incidents.

• Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.

• Escalate complex technical issues to internal teams or network equipment vendors when required.

4. Firewall and Network Security

• Configure and maintain FortiGate firewall policies, NAT, routing, and security settings.

• Manage and support IPSec and SSL VPN connectivity.

• Support network segmentation and access-control requirements.

• Review firewall rules and identify unnecessary, obsolete, or overly permissive rules.

• Support security-related investigations and remediation activities.

• Work with cybersecurity teams to address network security vulnerabilities and incidents.

• Support endpoint/network security technologies such as Windows Defender and Trellix where required.

5. Change Management

• Plan and execute network changes in accordance with Valeo Change Management procedures.

• Prepare implementation plans, test plans, validation procedures, and rollback plans.

• Perform network changes during approved maintenance windows.

• Conduct post-change validation and confirm service availability.

• Ensure all network changes are properly documented.

• Minimize business and production impact during network maintenance activities.

6. Documentation

• Maintain up-to-date network diagrams and infrastructure documentation.

• Maintain IP address, VLAN, subnet, routing, firewall, and network device information.

• Document network configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting procedures.

• Update documentation following network changes, upgrades, or infrastructure modifications.

• Create and maintain Knowledge Base articles and operational guides.

7. Network Projects and Improvements

• Support network infrastructure projects, migrations, upgrades, and expansions.

• Participate in new network deployments and infrastructure improvements.

• Support network architecture and design activities when required.

• Identify opportunities to improve network performance, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

• Support Valeo VIQCT asset improvement activities.

• Ensure network assets and configuration information are accurately maintained.

8. Vendor and Service Provider Management

• Coordinate with Cisco, Fortinet, HPE Aruba, ISP, and other network equipment/service providers.

• Open and manage technical support cases with vendors.

• Provide technical information, logs, configuration data, and troubleshooting results to vendors.

• Follow up on hardware replacement, RMA, firmware issues, and technical escalations.

• Coordinate with Cisco, Fortinet, HPE Aruba, ISPs, and other network equipment/service providers.

9.OJT and Knowledge Transfer

• Receive and provide OJT and knowledge transfer related to Valeo network infrastructure.

• Complete initial knowledge transfer within a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 4 weeks.

• Participate in periodic OJT and knowledge-sharing sessions.

• Maintain and update OJT and operational documentation.

• Participate in weekly follow-up meetings during the initial transition period, when required.

• Demonstrate the ability to independently perform daily network operations and troubleshooting after the OJT period.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on network engineering experience.

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.

• Practical experience in enterprise network environments.

• Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches.

• Experience with HPE Aruba wireless/network infrastructure is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls.

• Experience with VPN technologies, including IPSec and SSL VPN.

• Good understanding of VLAN, STP, routing, and switching.

• Working knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.

• Experience in network troubleshooting and incident response.

• Experience with network monitoring tools.

• Ability to analyze network logs and perform packet-level troubleshooting.

• Experience with tools such as Wireshark is preferred.

• Understanding of network security principles and access control.

• Experience working with Change Management / ITSM processes.

• Good communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an enterprise or manufacturing environment.

• Experience supporting production networks.

• Cisco certification such as CCNA or CCNP.

• Fortinet equivalent experience.

• HPE Aruba equivalent experience.

• ITIL / ITSM knowledge or certification.

• Experience with network monitoring and management platforms.

• Experience with firewall policy review and network security assessments.

• Experience with network automation or scripting is a plus.

Valeo Support / Onboarding

• Initial OJT and knowledge transfer: Minimum 2 weeks, maximum 4 weeks.

• Periodic OJT and knowledge-sharing sessions.

• Weekly follow-up during the initial transition period, if required.

• Review and maintain network documentation during the onboarding period.

• Gradually transition responsibilities from supervised operation to independent network management.
