About the role: 

The Florie’s Host/Hostess is responsible for coordinating restaurant reservations, welcoming and seating guests, and supporting the overall flow of service within Florie’s restaurant, bar, and lounge. This role maintains guest preferences, coordinates special occasions, and works closely with restaurant and culinary teams to ensure personalized and seamless experiences. This position is part of the Food & Beverage team at Florie’s and reports to Food & Beverage Management.

What you will do: 

• Welcome and greet arriving guests warmly and professionally, using guest names whenever possible 

• Coordinate and manage reservations for Florie’s restaurant, bar, lounge, and private dining experiences 

• Seat guests according to preferences and availability while maintaining an efficient and seamless flow of service 

• Respond to telephone and reservation inquiries promptly and professionally 

• Build relationships with new and returning guests while recognizing and maintaining guest preferences 

• Anticipate guest needs and assist with special requests, celebrations, and personalized arrangements 

• Coordinate special occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, private dining experiences, and festive reservations 

• Maintain accurate reservation information and communicate important details, VIPs, and special requests to restaurant and culinary teams 

• Maintain excellent knowledge of Florie’s menus, preparation methods, ingredients, cocktails, and wine offerings 

• Prepare and maintain menus and host stand materials for each meal period 

• Assist Servers and support teams with table preparation and large reservations when needed 

• Maintain strong knowledge of resort offerings and confidently assist guests with general questions and requests 

• Handle guest concerns and special requests with professionalism, care, and appropriate follow-up 

• Maintain a polished, organized, and welcoming host area throughout service 

• Support other Food & Beverage areas as business needs require 

 

What you bring: 

• High school diploma or equivalent experience 

• Previous host/hostess, restaurant, or Food & Beverage experience in a luxury hotel, resort, or fine dining environment preferred 

• Strong interpersonal and guest engagement skills 

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide warm, polished, and professional service 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

• Ability to manage reservations, seating priorities, and multiple guest requests in a fast-paced environment 

• Experience with restaurant reservation systems preferred 

• Excellent food and beverage knowledge or a strong desire to learn 

• Ability to remain professional and composed during high-volume service periods 

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English 

• Ability to work collaboratively with restaurant, culinary, and resort teams
