Trackwork Technician (Metro/ Rail)

Build the Future of Metro Rail
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Trackwork Technician to join our Project Management Consultant (PMC) team on a major metro rail project. The successful candidate will support the supervision, inspection, and delivery of slab track and ballastless track systems, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical compliance.
What You'll Be Doing:
Supervise and inspect contractor activities related to slab track and ballastless track installation.
Inspect rails, fasteners, track slabs, plinths, embedded components, joints, turnouts, and related trackwork.
Verify track alignment, level, gauge, cant, and other geometry requirements.
Monitor reinforcement, formwork, embedded items, concrete placement, curing, and finishing.
Inspect rail welding, stressing, grinding, and track adjustment activities.
Review technical drawings, specifications, method statements, inspection requests, and test results.
Identify and report defects, nonconformities, and deviations from approved requirements.
Coordinate with civil, structural, systems, signaling, power, and testing and commissioning teams.
Prepare daily inspection reports and provide progress updates to the PMC Trackwork Engineer.
Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and handover activities.
Promote compliance with project safety, quality, and railway worksite requirements.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Diploma (3+ years) or Bachelors degree in Railway, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in metro, railway, light rail, or transit trackwork projects.
Hands-on experience with slab track or ballastless track systems.
Knowledge of rail installation, track geometry, welding, stressing, and special trackwork.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation.
Experience in quality inspection, contractor supervision, and site reporting.
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Flexibility to work on construction sites, during night shifts, weekends, and railway possessions when required.
