Job Description:

FLS/MEP Expert (Metro, High Speed Rail, LRT, or Mainline Railway)

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented FLS/MEP Expert to join our team!

In this role, you will provide technical leadership for Fire & Life Safety (FLS) and MEP systems across Metro, High-Speed Rail, Stations, Depots, Tunnels, and Rail Infrastructure projects. You will support design assurance, system integration, stakeholder coordination, testing and commissioning, and compliance with railway, safety, and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for FLS and MEP systems on major rail projects.

• Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, calculations, and technical submissions.

• Ensure compliance with NFPA, IEC, local authority, Civil Defense, and railway standards.

• Lead reviews of fire protection, smoke management, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building services systems.

• Support system integration with signaling, communications, SCADA, traction power, AFC, and other rail systems.

• Participate in safety, hazard, interface, and design assurance reviews.

• Support testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and operational readiness activities.

• Coordinate with clients, operators, contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.

• Identify and mitigate technical risks, non-conformances, and design issues.

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to project teams.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, or Building Services Engineering etc.

• Minimum 15+ years of experience in FLS and/or MEP engineering.

• 10+ years of experience on Metro, High-Speed Rail, LRT, or Mainline Railway projects.

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Fire Detection & Suppression Systems

  • Smoke Control & Tunnel Ventilation

  • HVAC and Building Services

  • Electrical Distribution & UPS Systems

  • Plumbing & Public Health Systems

  • SCADA, BMS, and Rail System Interfaces

• Experience with Civil Defense approvals and stakeholder management.

• GCC rail project experience is highly desirable

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Chartered Engineer (CEng), PE, PMP, or CFPS certification.

• Experience in Metro Stations, Depots, Tunnels, and Rail Operations Facilities.

• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
