What’s the role
The Reporting Analyst plays a key role in delivering high-quality financial and statutory reporting across our Corporate entities. This position offers an excellent opportunity for early-career accounting professionals to apply their technical expertise, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and gain exposure to international reporting standards, audits, and complex financial processes, while contributing to Shell’s commitment to excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Group Reporting and local statutory reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
- Maintain a strong understanding of reporting requirements for Corporate entities, ensuring compliance with internal policies, IFRS, and local statutory regulations.
- Perform key controls, reconciliations, and reporting activities in line with established reporting timelines and governance requirements.
- Support the preparation, audit, filing, and maintenance of statutory accounts and related financial reporting deliverables.
- Coordinate statutory and Group audits, including preparation of supporting documentation, management of auditor requests, resolution of audit queries, and timely audit completion.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Tax, Legal, Transaction Processing, Group Reporting, and business stakeholders to support reporting, compliance, and financial analysis activities.
- Maintain the integrity of Master Reference Data and reporting-related information within ERP systems.
- Support Business Assurance and other internal compliance initiatives by ensuring adherence to control and governance requirements.
- Prepare responses to ad hoc reporting, data, and project requests, delivering accurate and actionable information in a timely manner.
- Create, maintain, and continuously improve process documentation, reporting procedures, and operational controls.
- Lead or support the transition and migration of new statutory reporting activities, driving process standardization, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Manage competing priorities during peak reporting and audit periods while ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of all reporting obligations.
What you bring
- Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) or relevant professional experience in financial reporting, accounting, or audit.
- Self-motivated with strong career aspirations in finance.
- Thorough understanding of financial and management accounting.
- Good knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including related reporting requirements.
- Good system skills, knowledge of SAP/ SERP advantageous
- Prior experience of and willingness to have hands on involvement in the day-to-day financial activities and provision of Management Information (MI) reporting essential
- Analytical, systems/process and accounting skills, with the ability to recognize underlying issues and develop appropriate resolutions.
- Flexibility in working hours will be essential in peak times such as quarter end.
- Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
