The Role of Commis de Rang
Reporting to the Assistant Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service and attention to our Guests. As a Commis de Rang you will prepare the dining venues and equipment, food pass and service area of your assigned station in the restaurant, ensuring Guests are consistently provided with courteous, engaging, prompt and efficient service. You will assist the Chef de Rang in the serving of food and attending Guest needs and requests, being highly visible in the operation, providing an expertly service experience, clearing and resetting tables according to standards and respecting the Hygiene standards applied in the Restaurant as per HACCP system. You will be communicating Guest orders to the Chef de Rang, serving food items and beverages, taking care of any special requests, anticipating guest needs, ascertaining satisfaction, and offering suggestions, assisting with restaurant inventory, taking care of the breakdown, cleaning and setting-up of tables and work stations.

Our Ideal Commis de Rang will have
High school diploma and minimum two years in food service or related work. Food service experience in luxury hotels and/or stand-alone fine dining restaurants or restaurant groups, preferably in the same position. International experience would represent an asset.

You should have attention to detail, strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, the ability to multi-task with excellent organizational skills, be a team player and bring your personal touch and energy to our guest experiences.

Ability to carry and balance a tray. You will also have the ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions.

You must have fluency in English and Italian.

This position is based at the San Domenico Palace in Taormina and the contract is seasonal. The candidate must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays. You must possess the legal right to work in Italy.
