The Role of Chef de Partie Pastry 
Reporting to the Executive Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for coordinating daily tasks at the dessert station, ensuring consistent quality is delivered. You will oversee the preparation of desserts and bakery for guest orders, ensuring consistent quality is delivered in every dish, following recipe cards as well as production, portion and presentation standards. You will be completing mise en place and setting up dessert stations for service, always maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment as per HACCP, dating food containers while ensuring all perishables are kept at proper temperatures. You will help check pars and assist in setting up plans and actions to control food waste, developing and mentoring the Commis de Partie, ensuring all guests receive the highest levels of food excellence consistently.  

Our Ideal Chef de Partie Pastry candidate will have 
High school education, cooking school or culinary insistute education or equivalent experience.

At least three years of culinary experience or related work experience in luxury hotels and/or stand-alone fine dining restaurants or restaurant groups. International experience would represent an asset. Advanced culinary knowledge is expected for this position. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Working knowledge is generally learned on the-job.

You should have good knowledge of Italian and international dishes, food items and recipe preparation, along with the ability to multi-task and with excellent organizational skills. You should be a team player who brings a personal touch and energy to our guest experiences. Ability to operate, maintain and properly clean including , food processor, mixer, slicer, waffle iron, and excalibur, oven, crepes iron, blast chiller, fridge and freezer. Proficient knife skills and ability to multitask. The knowledge of English would represent an advantage.
 
This position is based at the San Domenico Palace Taormina and the contract is seasonal. The candidate must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays. You must possess the legal right to work in Italy.
