The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Engineer 1, an exciting opportunity to be part of the new Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Nashville!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform carpentry work including but not limited to: furniture repair, leveling furniture, refinishing projects - building shelves, desks, platforms hanging and removing doors
- Picking up lumber and supplies from loading dock
- Touches up all millwork on a continuing basis.
- Uses safety precautions at all times when using tools, chemicals, ladders, or other potentially dangerous equipment or supplies.
- Advises Engineering Manager of all work orders and/or projects currently being worked on, the scheduling of projects, and materials needed for such projects
- Ensures that all equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat, and orderly
- Keeps informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods
- Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention
- Advises Engineering Manager of any unusual conditions within the property
- Perform other related duties and assist other trades as requested by the Supervisor
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are performed in a timely and professional manner
- Work independently as part of our team
- Respond to emergency calls and situations
- Read and interpret instructions, diagrams, and drawings
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum one year of Engineering experience, preferably in a luxury environment
- Proficient in rough and finish carpentry
- Enter and locate work related information using computers and/or point of sale systems
- Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail
- Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
- Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
- Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift
- Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations
- Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend climb and carry objects as necessary
- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
- Must be able to work inside and outside at all times of the year as needed, based upon business volumes
