What you'll do...

About Store N°8

We are the incubation arm of Walmart. Store N°8 was formed in 2017 as part of Walmart's larger innovation mission to shape the future of commerce. We pursue big ideas and take risks by stepping outside of Walmart's core business to focus on leapfrog capabilities across conversational commerce, mixed reality, in-store digitization, and more. Our ultimate goal: fuel Walmart's core business, create new operational efficiencies, and unlock amazing experiences for our customers in the long-term. This team within Store N°8 is designing immersive experiences for our customers, developing the role of commerce in virtual worlds.

About the Role

In this role, the vCommerce Category Manager will define and establish a new process and approach for managing a highly curated product selection within new and emerging virtual world spaces and experiences. We are building the next generation of the internet and you thrive in ambiguous environments. You are passionate about topics such as the metaverse and Web3 and understand that we are only at the beginning of what those will become. This role will report to the head of marketing, product strategy, & partnerships, and play a lead role on a startup team.

The rapidly changing games & entertainment industry has influenced the latest consumer behavior trends and is one of the few industries with the potential to reach 3+ billion worldwide. The Store N°8 XR team is seeking a talented vCommerce Category Manager to lead our merchandising strategy within video games and virtual worlds to meet new customers where they spend much of their time. This key role will allow the right candidate to truly play in a blue ocean space and contribute to building a business from zero to one in an authentic startup environment. Evolve your skills by establishing baseline KPIs, developing a cross-category merchandising approach, and working with marketing, product, and finance to test new strategies and hypothesis that optimize for performance.

Success in this role requires displaying a hands-on approach for building out experimentation frameworks that drive continuous improvement, including optimizing for product selection and pricing varieties to accelerate growth at scale. You are creative and have demonstrated an ability to identify new product and merchandising tactics. You love data and are comfortable working with CX designers, engineers, and product managers to get things done.
