The Leidos team supporting the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Operational Energy has an opening for an Operational Energy Analyst at USAF Global Strike Command, Barksdale AFB, LA. Leidos supports the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Operational Energy) (SAF/IEN) with project management and policy support subject matter experts. Each year about $9B, or 7-8% of the Air Force budget has gone to purchase energy. Approximately 86%, or $7.2B, is operational energy (aviation fuel). The Air Force Operational Energy Program vision is to Create an energy optimized Air Force that maximizes combat capability for the warfighter
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct analysis of day-to-day flight operations practices to determine how changes in policy, procedures, and techniques can reduce operational energy expenditure
Develop Business Case Analyses on potential aviation energy efficiency initiatives for aircraft and 3rd party applications
Lead other aviation energy efficiency projects
Perform analysis on potential and existing aviation fuel efficiency initiatives
Develop aviation energy efficiency issues for consideration as input to the Program Objective Memorandum budget submission
Develop and assess aviation energy metrics to develop opportunities for energy savings measures
Capture requisite data for aviation metrics and perform analysis to determine best course of action for aviation energy efficiencies
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 12 years of prior relevant USAF operations experience
AFGSC staff experience, and/or HAF staff experience
Experience with technical writing and strong communications
Preferred Qualifications:
AFGSC experience in A3/A4/A5

Pay Range:
Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
