The Leidos Space Exploration and Mission Operations division has an opening for a Space Operations Cloud Developer to support Leidos ground operations systems for space based research and exploration missions. This position is located in our Houston, Texas office location.

This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based applications and services. The role requires strong technical skills, a deep understanding of cloud technologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure software solutions. The Space Operations Cloud Developer will design, develop and deploy cloud-native applications using best practices and modern cloud technologies that support connectivity to various data systems for end-users. The successful candidate will be a collaborator and strong communicator who possesses excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.

US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency and the ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and product managers to gather requirements, define software specifications, and implement solutions.
  • Maintain and improve existing cloud applications by diagnosing issues, implementing bug fixes, and performing upgrades.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
  • Develop and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure that applications comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and code comments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in software development with a focus on cloud development.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-native applications and services, leveraging cloud architecture principles and best practices.
  • Serverless Architectures | Cloud Infrastructure and AWS Services | Cost Optimization/Management | Hybrid and Multi-Cloud Experience | Networking | Scalability | Disaster Recover | Containerization | Microservices | Agile Development
  • Programming Skills: Python, Java, TypeScript, Scala, C++, C#, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, .NET Framework, REST API
  • Proficiency in cloud management and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
  • Experience with DevOps practices and Automation tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
  • AI/ML
  • Azure and On-Premise MS (SharePoint, SQL Server, Power Platform, Azure DevOps, etc.)
  • IBM Maximo
  • Experience with NASA missions

Pay Range:

Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
