Responsibilities

The Opportunity

 

The purpose of this role is to provide tactical operations support involving order entry, issue resolution, and scheduling support. The nature of the work is proactive and must be able to alert key stakeholders on potential service gaps. This role is our frontline response unit to set appointments to honor our stringent customer demands. Appointments will be scheduled for pickup at shippers, delivery to consignees, with scheduling requirements varing by customer. Ability to discern ideal appointment times based on location, distance and loading times is critical. This role will report to the MBS Account Manager Supervisor(L8). TMS System knowledge and understanding of transportation is expected along with strong ability to set day-day priorities for service leaders. Strong coordination and communication with BU partners to insure delivery of optimization and efficiency gains is expected. Exceptional time management, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills are critical for this role. This role will additionally require building critical relationships with key team members both internally within the hub and across, inside the function and and across Business Units.

 

Your Impact

 

As a MBS Account Management/Black Bear Scheduler your functions would consist of:

 

Functional Responsibilities:
The scheduling role will be responsible for making 75+ appointments daily. The primary focus will be the prioritization of critical shipments and ensuring timely and accurate scheduling for both the carrier and account management teams.  The team will be responsible for providing best in class scheduling and proactive issue resolution for the PLCI customer base. This role will support the delivery of revenue and NOPBT goals by ensuring the execution of the day to day scheduling and order entry function.

  • Set customer appointments for account management team
  • Timely order entry and a sense of urgency regarding issue resolution
  • Understanding of optimal scheduling and transit times to ensure realistic and desirable pickup and delivery appointment dates and times
  • Compliance to defined customer scheduling and EDI processes
  • Proactive shipment scheduling and customer alerts for known anticipated service gaps
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders

Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or applicable degree required

Experience

  • 0-2 years Operations, transportation experience preferred
  • English Fluency both written and verbal required
  • Ability to positively influence teams outside of direct responsibility and across multiple business units
  • Capable of working in a remote work group and being managed by a remote manager
  • Utilize technical/functional knowledge that creates opportunities and solves business problems
  • Proficiency using PC-based applications such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and alternate meeting technology
  • Ability to identify business issues and escalate in a timely fashion
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities

 Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; proactively communicates using appropriate methods for situation and audience in clear, concise and professional manner
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, OTR drivers and dispatchers in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Strong passion for customer service and logistics excellence
  • Ability to learn and update brokerage transportation management system
  • Ability to effectively interact and build a favorable business relationship with all carriers and customers
  • Ability to operate and flourish in a fast paced business start up
