Leidos's Health Solutions Business Area is currently seeking an experienced Virtual Health Leader in support of the Department of Defense Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) Program and the continued sustainment and enhancement of the Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS system.  MHS GENESIS is deployed globally to over 3700 locations at 138 Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs), serving 190K users, providing 1100+ clinical workflows delivering medical electronic health record (EHR) capabilities for nearly 10M beneficiaries.

The DHMSM Virtual Health Lead – will support the DHMSM Program Manager with leading and shaping the Virtual Health portfolio within the Military Health System. This will involve direct engagement with the government customers, engaging with new and existing partners within the virtual health space and creation and execution of a virtual health roadmap. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, and collaborative approach, with the ability to adapt and lead change courageously. Experience in managing high-functioning, large-scale IT program/project teams and initiatives including strategic planning and developing detailed plans and proposals will be key.   

Primary Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining the strategic roadmap for Virtual Health Capabilities

  • Oversight of the Virtual Health portfolio working closely with the matrixed engineering and architectural teams

  • Oversight and the development of plans and requirements for complex systems related to the Virtual Health systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, automation, communications protocols, risk management/electronic analysis, software, lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation.

  • Perform functional allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships. Identify resources required for each task.  Review existing processes and procedures for improvements and provide recommendations to LPDH and DHMSM leadership for execution.  Support the implementation of these process and procedure improvements.

  • Identify, develop, and implement near-term and long-term virtual health business strategies that provide the business an opportunity to accelerate growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree and 15 years of prior relevant experience

  • US Citizenship required – must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust government security clearance through DHMSM background investigation process.

  • Demonstrated expertise in virtual health and clinical workflows.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing complex IT solutions in healthcare in large scale enterprises.

  • Project management experience working with Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), IMS, and work authorizations.

  • Understanding of cost and schedule development as well as controls to conduct root cause analysis and identify corrective actions.

  • Experience with resource/staffing needs assessment, hiring, and team management.

  • Experience setting leadership team expectations and delegating duties appropriately.

  • Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EHR system interface configuration, implementation, and operation.

  • Experience interpreting and decomposing requirements.

  • Experience with technical road mapping, to include deployment planning.

  • Experience with software development methodologies, including testing.

  • Experience managing technical teams (integrated product teams)

  • Experience in large-scale COTS integration.

  • Experience with Cerner solutions, Dentrix Enterprise, and Rhapsody

  • Experience with medical and/or dental record integration or transition.

  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline architectures.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
