Responsibilities

The Opportunity

  • Objective: Management of the technical/technologiocal services and shipping function in R&D’s Tech Center in Vallejo
  • Purpose: Effective and efficient operation of: Pilot Plant – Process Lab (trials, operational performance, maintenance, Engineering activities, support to users, etc), warehouses (ingredients, finished product), Innovation lab and shipping process, ensuring compliance of EHS and Food Safety protocols. It also oversees resource planning and execution.
  • Scope of role: To all users in Tech Center from different functions (Product development Foods/Beverages, Sensory, Packaging, FSQA, Analytical, Life Sciences, Seasoning) for the different categories (Salty, C&C and Grains) within Tech Center.

 

Your Impact

 

As R&D Pilot Plant Coordinator your responsibilities would consist of:

 

Core responsibilities (make decisions in all) (Impacted areas: R&D,Engineering, Procurement, Finances,

  • Planning and execution of all testing in PP, ensuring equipment/ingredients readiness, operational performance and after-trial activities
  • Execution/validation of new equipment installation and commissioning, ensuring process performance and readiness
  • Management of product innovation/seasonings labs, ensuring all supplies and needs are met on time with no disruption
  • Management of ingredients and finished product warehouses, ensuring materials availability, spaces distribution, internal requierements
  • Management of shipping/receiving process, ensuring protocols and users requirements
  • Management of capital and expenses budget for full operation, delivering targets in the annual plan

Parallell responsabilities:

  • Leads and creates plans to deliver highest operational performance of the PP facility, ensuring the needs of the Project Team customers are met in the short and long term (Make decisions) Impactyed areas: R&D
  • Keeps safety as a top priority. Ensures the PP and warehouse are a safe working environment, compliant to legal standards for equipment, chemicals/ingredients and operational practices (Execute actions) Impacted areas: R&D
  • Delivers all Food safety and quality standards currently in place and ensures all are held to a high standard, with appropriate controls (Execite actions) Impacted areas: R&D
  • Development of all associates on the team ensuring effective training and development plans are in place for all team members with opportunities for personal development and growth in role (Make decisions) Impacted areas: R&D, HR
  • Creates a collaborative partnership with other Process Centers to ensure standardization of approach and efficiency across the Global network (Make decisions) R&D, Operations

Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?

Education

  • Bachelor in Food Technology or Engineering (Food, Industrial, Mechanical) or related/equivalent

Experience

  • Experience (min 3 years) in food processing industry (processes) in R&D or Operations
  • English Intermediate - advanced
  • SAP desired
  • Good knowledge on statistics
  • Good project and people management skills
  • Solid understanding of good manufacturing practices
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and negotiate effectively across all levels and functions
  • Good technical and analytical skills to interpret complex data and translate it into meaningful information
  • Technical and personal leadership
  • Sense of urgency and prioritization
  • Practical, hands-on and comfortable with mechanical operations (equipment)
  • Fosters a positive, respectful and inclusive work environment
