Responsibilities

Pallet Control

  • Manage and control Pallet movements
  • Checking and controlling CDC/DC Chep Dashboards

  •  

    Support to the DC’s on managing the Chep system

Process Alignment

  • Monitor in- and out movements on CDC and DC level vs captured on the Chep system
  • Monitor adhering to Pallet receipt and transfer out processes

Reporting

  • Facilitating and Action weekly pallet meetings
  • Weekly Pallet summary on counts received from DC’s to be captured on the Weekly Scorecard
  • Monitor and manage Pallet Count variances
  • Monitoring pallet exchanges and customer outstanding balances and reports
  • Weekly update on outstanding pallets from customers with comments and action plan in co-operation with ACT on pallet recovery
  • To share Customer outstanding Pallet balances with the Sales Team bi-weekly
  • Receive and Capture Monthly Pallet counts on the Monthly Summary

ACT Functionality 

  • ACT is responsible for the accurate receipt, despatch and capturing of CHEP pallets by implementing control procedures, thereby minimizing the risk of pallet losses
  • Monitor receipt, despatch and control procedures with regular updates
  • Work and engage with ACT on a constant basis
  • Support to ACT on any internal assistance needed 

Productivity/Pallet Write Off Provision

  •  Monitor variances on a weekly basis on CDC and DC level to avoid losses and pallet write off’s
  • Monthly summary on surplus/losses

General

  • Support on Access Control on the Chep System
  • Identifying areas of opportunity for training and development of Stock Controllers and Site Administrators in the execution of Pallet movement transactions
  • Training to Site Forklift Drivers and Stock Controllers on Pallet defects and what to look for before a pallet is rejected
  • Monitor frequency of damaged/broken pallet return per site to determine if poor handling contribute to this number
  • Time to time site visits for unexpected pallet counts to verify correctness of counts and to monitor if pallets is not used for other than products only–this will avoid rental on-cost of non-movable pallets

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Grade 12/Matric/Senior Certificate
  • A Tertiary Qualification
  • Knowledge/Skill
  • Computer literacy essential (Microsoft Office Package) with a sound understanding of Excel (worksheets & formulas)
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good collaborative, leadership and influencing skills
  • Strong administration skills
  • Extremely high organization skills and ability to multi-task/prioritize
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to navigate matrix business environment
  • Financial Acumen
  • High level of attention to detail

Experience

  • Minimum 5–7 years experience within FMCG environment and warehousing
  • Proven track record of managing a team that is geographically dispersed
  • Sound financial acumen
