NVIDIA is seeking a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for working with our power IC (integrated circuit), mixed-signal IC component suppliers to develop and implement world-class supplier quality programs for our AI-centric data center, automotive and consumer products. This is a relevant role that will closely work with core functional teams including Hardware Engineering, Product Engineering, Product Quality Engineering, and Commodity Management. This individual will also work closely with our CM (contract manufacturer).

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading end-to-end component quality, by working closely with suppliers and internal teams to assure new product readiness and ensure performance meets the key quality and reliability metrics.

  • Define and develop industrial leading power IC quality standard for AI datacenter.

  • Review power IC supplier's design spec, factory process, qualification data to ensure quality level.

  • Own actions for quality excursions caused by manufacturing defects. Works with suppliers on failure and root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and supplier 8D reports.

  • Coordinate component FA (Failure Analysis) activities and understand component failures and defining FA goals. Driving complete FA work at suppliers’ FA facilities.

  • Review and discuss RA (Root-cause Analysis), CA (Corrective Action), and lessons learned following 5-Why practice.

  • Lead multi-functional team to work closely with supplier to promptly understand exposure, risk, containment, and corrective actions when quality excursion happens.

  • Develop a continuous improvement plan with the supplier and track/report progress.

  • Prepare and present QBR (Quarterly Business Review) quality scorecard and follow up with suppliers on improvement actions.

  • Handle PCN (Product Change Notification) and provide risk assessments for proposed changes. Represent supplier with any proposed changes in the CRB (Change Control Board) meetings.

What we need to see:

  • Masters/Bachelor in electrical engineering, semiconductor physics, material science or equivalent experience.

  • 15+ years of experience in power IC industrial on design, process or testing.

  • Knowledge of IC wafer fabrication process, assembly process, and ATE testing.

  • Familiar with IC reliability concepts, qualification testing and JEDEC standards.

  • Familiar with physical FA techniques such as C-SAM, SEM, TEM, FTIR, and Hot Spot Analysis.

  • Experienced with proven understanding of data-driven, statistical QC, and QA problem-solving methodology.

  • Strong communication, ability to multi-task, and good people skill. Dedicated and able to work with minimum supervision.

  • Experience with factory audits. Direct experience with VDA6.3 audit is a plus.

The base salary range is 192,000 USD - 304,750 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
