What you'll do...

Position: Software Engineer III 

 

Job Location: 680 W California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086 

 

Duties: Write efficient, maintainable, and reusable code. Improve the efficiency and reliability of existing code. Configure software products and systems. Design backend database schema. Design and monitor data analytic jobs. Build event-driven architecture with message broker. Collaborate using Git to track source code changes.  Build continuous integration pipelines. Research and identify needed solutions. Translate business requirements into technical solutions. Determine implementation designs. Develop proof of concepts across technology stacks. Apply appropriate engineering patterns for different products. Define contracts and interfaces between different modules in the system. Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure project delivery and requirements. Troubleshoot issues by gathering root cause related information. Work with support teams to assist in the resolution of issues. Drive the development of an action plan and perform actions as designated in the plan. Conduct unit testing to ensure stability. Conduct integration testing to ensure integrity. Conduct load testing to ensure performance. Perform BCDR testing to ensure disaster recovery capability. Drive change activities in different environments to secure functionality. Deploy applications to cloud resources for better accessibility, security, and scalability. Maintain software by resolving bugs that arise in the application. Create design and technical documentation for applications. Provide support and guidance as needed to other engineers and corresponding users. Plan and track deliverables in the short term and long term. Work with offshore teams in a timely manner to achieve better productivity. Participate in code review to meet quality standards of the company. Explore new technologies to boost productivity. Guard customer privacy by following local laws and regulations. 

 

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills. 

 

Skills required: Experience designing and developing REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot. Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language (Java or Python). Experience developing using source control systems: Git and Bitbucket. Experience designing and storing data in relational database management systems: PostgreSQL and Oracle. Experience designing and using NoSQL databases: CosmosDB and MongoDB. Experience building an event streaming pipeline between components using Kafka. Experience deploying and scaling applications on the cloud using at least one of the following: Azure, GCP, or AWS. Experience creating unit tests with JUnit and Mockito. Experience performing load tests with JMeter. Experience logging and monitoring applications using Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana. Experience implementing containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes. Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Looper, and Concord. Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment. Employer will accept any amount of professional experience with the required skills. 

 

Salary Range: $184,662/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.   Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
