Our Open Opportunity

The Spa Supervisor assumes a pivotal role in each and every logistical operation relating directly and indirectly to overall guest satisfaction and the ultimate success of the Resort.  Given the integral nature of the position, the Spa Supervisor's demeanor must be reflective at all times and of the highest standards of professionalism exemplified by Four Seasons Hotel/Resort chain.  A consistently positive attitude, knowledge of all facets of the operation and attention to detail are traits, which our Spa Supervisor is/are required to have. 

In addition, the Spa Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Spa Front Desk, Spa Desk Coordinators and the Spa Attendants and Therapists.  The supervisor must, at all times, display professionalism and attention to detail to serve as an example and leader to the Spa Team members.

Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Exceptional proficiency in all Spa Therapists tasks/responsibilities which will include performing the entire treatments menu, offer at the spa.

  • Daily communication to all Spa Team regarding daily/upcoming events through use of daily briefings, pass-on logs, memos, or any other means necessary. Weekly meet with Spa management.

  • Will be involved in and responsible for the training of all new employees according to the requirements of the Spa and HR.

  • Updating the Spa Training Manual, procedures and new hire testing on a quarterly basis to reflect updates in procedures and tasks.

  • Continual re-training of Spa team in areas that become apparent by creating action plans to improve the guest experience and/or the efficiency of operations.

  • Monitoring Spa team performance and assisting with information gathering for performance reviews.

  • Implementing new procedures for Spa team in order to improve productivity and service delivery.

  • Assisting in recording Spa team infractions (tardiness, absence, insubordination, job performance issues etc.) and passing that information to Spa Management for corrective action with employees.

  • Collaborate on up-sell incentives for Spa team to increase Spa revenues.

  • Proactively monitoring the books, and educating staff, to ensure: Reservations are complete and correct in order to foresee and prevent glitches and guest complaints resulting in discounted or comped treatments. Reservations are made with regard to productivity to reduce the amount of down time for Therapists and Aestheticians. 

  • Utilize strategic booking practices with regard to productivity and room utilization during peak hours.

  • Encourage the sale of longer treatments and add-ons to improve room yield during slow periods.

  • Supervise therapists/nail technician and hair stylists take guests on time for their services.

  • Verify inventories and order accordingly operation demands.

  • Organized trainings for new staff, with their respective Training Manual.

  • Maintain Four Seasons standards of service in any situation.

  • Perform monthly standards testing for all Spa areas.

  • Responsible for daily checks of all guest areas such as locker areas, fitness areas, games room and Spa relaxation rooms to ensure all areas are clean, neat, orderly and all equipment is functioning properly.

  • Miscellaneous tasks assigned by management.

Job Functions

Guest Services:

  • Consultation and familiarization of services, amenities, spa and hotel facilities.

  • Appointment setting and coordination thereof.

  • Utilize telephone according to Four Seasons service standards.

  • Utilize e-mail according to Four Seasons standards.

  • Consultation and sales of all retail items.

  • Anticipation of guest needs.

  • Problem solving and fair and decisive decision-making.

Computer Programs

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Spa booking system.

  • Applicable knowledge of our hotel interface programs (Opera, HotSOS).

  • Basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Lotus Notes.

Staff Coordination:

  • Booking, organization and fair balancing of appointments.

  • Staff schedule confirmation.

  • Communication in accordance to guests needs.

  • Coordination of request and specialized service bookings.

  • Communication to staff of updates/changes of tasks and bookings.

  • Assistance to staff when needed.

Cashier/POS

  • Proper application of services and gratuities.

  • Proper assignment of retail product sales to both aestheticians and therapists.

  • Posting of service vouchers.

  • Accounting reports.

  • Research and problem solving of vouchers

Reception Desk:

  • Management of daily/weekly side-jobs.  Holding the team accountable for duties such as desk supplies/storeroom inventory, guest collateral (menus, price lists, fitness schedules, medical forms, locker slips).

  • Maintain a neat and organized workspace.

Retail:

  • Product knowledge.

  • Re-stocking and display upkeep – dusting, folding/straightening of product.

  • Source new and unique products to elevate the retail offerings.

  • Inventory of products.

  • Upkeep the incentive plans for retail sales.

Preferred Knowledge/Qualifications

  • Oral and written proficiency in the English language

  • Superior communications skills

  • A superior sense of organization and ability to prioritize in a busy environment

  • Patience

  • Previous hotel and computer knowledge preferred

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Passion for the health and wellness industry
