We are seeking a Laboratory Technician Specialist, Metrology to join Q² Solutions, IQVIA’s laboratory business in Marietta, GA.

As a Laboratory Technician Specialist, Metrology, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled qualifications, calibration, preventative maintenance, and repair tasks in support of typical analytical and process instrumentation used in the laboratory.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Installation and qualification of new equipment, instrumentation, and controlling software according to standard operating procedures.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on analytical instruments and coordinating necessary maintenance with external vendors.
  • Maintaining life cycle documentation of equipment and instrumentation in accordance with applicable SOPs.
  • Calibration and verification of validated instrumentation according to SOP requirements.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and instrumentation and identifying new equipment needs.
  • Repairing disabled analytical instruments and laboratory equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Establishing Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs for new analytical instruments and laboratory equipment.
  • Creating and maintaining SOPs for instrumentation/metrology.
  • Monitoring and responding to equipment monitoring systems, such as environmental or generator alerts.
  • Contributing to the resolution of quality incidents and applicable corrective and preventative actions.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Associate’s Degree in electronics or mechanical technology or closely related field.
  • 1 year experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Related hands-on experience in calibration and repair of measuring and test equipment.
  • Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, Word with an emphasis on Excel required.
  • Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for this role:

  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $55,500.00 - $92,500.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
