We work alongside Accenture sales and delivery teams to provide high quality advice and support for negotiation, drafting and ongoing management of client contracts.
Our ASEAN Contract Management team operates as part of a global organization applying expertise in risk management and contract compliance throughout the entire contract lifecycle starting with the initial sales phase and continuing through to contract delivery and ultimately, closure.
We apply commercial and contractual expertise to lead the delivery of legal & commercial outcomes for our priority engagements and portfolios, including:
Sales growth: expanding the footprint of our agreements and supporting new business.
Revenue protection: delivering on our contractual commitments.
Margin improvement: effectively managing commercial levers, risks and issues; and
Compliance with contract obligations and Accenture policy.
Job Summary
Contract Specialists assist with managing clients in a manner that maximizes value for Accenture and clients. Contract Specialists operate in close collaboration with sales and delivery teams and provide support throughout the entire contract lifecycle including pre-award, contract delivery and closeout.
Contract Specialists must be capable of managing contracts and subcontracts in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws and client business requirements. Contract Specialists are generally co-located with Accenture business/client units and project teams and are expected to maintain a high level of visibility on the account as they perform their contract management responsibilities.
Contract Specialists may also organize, control and direct the work activities of a team of offshore contract management professionals and other related engagement staff allocated to a business or client unit, acting as a role model for contract management staff and a trusted partner to the business.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership/Engagement:
Provide contract administration support for CM processes as part of a contract management team on a specific project or account.
Work with delivery and client counterparts to assist with day-to-day service delivery;
Demonstrate the value of the contract management function with project teams; and
Work with client contract management teams in order to understand delivery requirements.
People & Portfolio Management / Development:
Work with offshore staff, providing oversight of day-to-day activities.
Participate in the review of performance standards for junior contract management staff.
Provide input for priority setting and performance achievement process for self and junior staff; and
Participate in the development of training modules for contract management staff on a specific project or account.
Risk & Issue Management:
Assist with reporting, documenting commercial and contract risks and issues, following up with contract management leads to coordinate completion of open actions.
Escalate contractual, commercial and CM positioning matters to CM Leads in a timely and controlled fashion; and
Assist with drafting weekly, monthly and quarterly reports in compliance with contract management processes and account delivery requirements.
Sales Support:
Provide contract administrative support for sales teams, coordinating the document management process; and
Demonstrate basic knowledge of Accenture's consulting, outsourcing and systems integration service offerings.
Contracting, Drafting and Negotiation:
Assist with drafting and review of Statements of Work, Change Requests, Arrangement Letters, Subcontracts and Non-Disclosure Agreements, working under the direction of a contract management lead; and
Observe and/ or participate in negotiations under the direction of account leads.
Commercial and Contract Management Processes:
Provide day to day administration and support for contract management processes on a specific project or account.
Assist with the development of a contract awareness program for an account team highlighting critical contract terms and conditions and Accenture and client obligations.
Assist with identifying relevant policies and procedures applicable to an account; and
Upload contracts in accordance with Accenture records retention policies.
Knowledge Skills and Experience
Contract Management Knowledge and Experience:
Min 2 yrs. relevant experience as a contract/ vendor/ commercial manager.
Relevant experience with Consulting, Outsourcing and Systems Integration deals in the Information Technology, Procurement or other relevant industry sectors.
Demonstrated experience as part of a Contract Management or Procurement team; and
Able to communicate effectively with client contract management and procurement staff,
Knowledge of Business Practices:
Understanding of business practices at large corporations and/ or government entities.
Understanding of commercial contracting principles; and
Exposure to commercial contracting regulations.
Legal Knowledge and Experience:
Some exposure to legal processes and principles as they relate to commercial and contract management.
Some exposure to and understanding of commercial and contract law; and
Some exposure to commercial terms and conditions applicable to contracts for Accenture services.
Key Relationships:
Reports to: Contract Manager or Portfolio Lead.
Supervises: Junior onshore and offshore Contract Management professionals providing services on an account
External Relationships: Client commercial/ procurement/ contract management staff
Internal Relationships: Account Managers
Education and Qualifications
Education: University degree required (business, computing, law or engineering preferred).
Membership: Member of International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) or National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and/ or professional certification considered a plus.
Work Experience: Min 2 years in contract management or related discipline.
Work Requirements: Travel may be required
