Responsibilities

 

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a Logistics Controller to join our dynamic team. The role is physically located in Isando, Gauteng and will be reporting to the Plant Lead. The role is responsible for managing the overall receiving of incoming materials teams and delivering effective management of site KPIs and recoveries of site finances.

 

The successful candidate will also be responsible for the following:

  • Management of incoming raw materials stores (Packaging & Bulk Raw Materials) and ensuring on time receipts of stock on SAP
  • Management of movement of stock from inbound stores into production slocs as well as reverse movements; all stock movements accom
  • Coordinate inbound stores cycle counts, investigate variances and report on losses
  • Responsible to deliver stock record accuracy of the inbound stores locations in conjunction with operational site teams
  • Responsible for developing continuous improvement plans aimed at improving KPIs in the inbound warehouse space
  • Develop and maintain inventory management controls and standards aimed at ensuring stock record accuracy > 95%
  • Deliver Monthly stock counts for all raw materials on site in line with Corporate Governance and Operational Controls
  • Deliver weekly/ Monthly scorecards for the plant and co-ordinate performance reports for the Inbound Lead
  • Management of GOR process of all returned materials and allocation of any usages within the plant
  • Timeous capturing of the Audit result on the Europe GCS Portal as per communicated timelines by the Internal Audit team.

Compliance EHS/ Quality & Food Safety:

  • Ensure housekeeping and hygiene practices inside/outside facilities (AIB) to ensure a rating of >900
  • Ensure 100% adherence to Health, Safety and AIB procedures and regulations.

People:

  • Implement good communication structure and communicate to staff on regular basis.
  • Responsible to deliver agreed targets (KPI’s) relating to warehouse performance.
  • Managing staff performance and take corrective action.
  • Identify training needs for warehouse staff.
  • Ensure sound management policies and practices are in place and adhered to.
  • Managing outsourced company personnel and labour optimisation.
  • Plan and set shifts for Warehouse employees.
  • Responsible to ensure the maintenance of Equipment and Machinery in accordance with agreed budgets, service

Qualifications

What will qualify you for the role

  • 4-6 years relevant experience including people management
  • Tertiary qualification in Financial management
  • Cost Accounting a prerequisite
  • Experience managing Creditors
  • Ability to budget and forecast
  • Directing and managing the day-to-day activities of various people to compile weekly and monthly results timeously
  • Computer literate – MS Office and Advanced Excel
  • Minimum 5 years in a Manufacturing environment
  • SAP and P2P knowledge an advantage
  • Attention to detail /Problem solving skills/ Strong Drive for result
  • Sound Manufacturing experience and financial reporting of finances
  • Leadership skills to run a department of employees and maintain positive morale along with business results, all with very little oversight.
