General

  • Development of optical and camera module test equipment and infrastructure

  • Apply engineering best practices, including S/W & H/W standardisation from Prototyping through to Series Production.  

  • Collaborate with R&D and Production Teams both locally and internationally to quickly understand Project requirements, risks, milestones and develop test strategy timing plans and deliverables.

  • Project manage internal/external development of optic and electrical test systems

  • Provide development cost estimate to support customer RFQs

  • Apply Valeo Continuous Improvement Policy to existing processes

  • Provide informal and formal (documented) training as part of Project handover to Production

Hardware Development

  • Integration of Test applications to Automated Production Processes 

  • Liaise with R&D and Industrial engineering teams on Design for Manufacture, Design for Test and Product Design reviews.

  • Specify and Design test fixtures, considering Poka Yoke techniques, tolerance stack up, etc.

  • Upgrade of existing tester platforms to trial new hardware/test solutions & release of validated solutions to production systems with supporting documentation and training in place.

Validation/Qualification

  • Generation Qualification Plan and statistical data to validate product test strategy

  • Generation of Technical & Training documentation

  • Generation of detailed NPI build reports, process yields, failure modes, etc.

Essential

  • Minimum 5 Years Experience within Manufacturing Environment (ideally Automotive or Electronics)

  • Experience in document writing is required, i.e. procedures, specifications, reports, etc.

  • General software package’s skills – Microsoft Excel, Google Drive, Revision Control, etc.

  • Fundamental understanding of Physics principles (ie: energy, temperature, heat, optics, electrical, RF, ect.)

  • Capable of generating and understanding capability and statistical reports.

  • Knowledge of V-Model development life cycle

  • Experience in Engineering Project Management

  • Knowledge of Agile development principles

  • Ability to understand and assess 2D 3D mechanical and electrical drawings

Advantage

  • Experience with vision / laser based products and applications

  • Proven capability in mechanical assembly and electrical debug i.e. ability to work autonomously on machinery and be familiar with PLC cabinet wiring

  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD packages (CATIA, SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion or similar)

  • Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles (ie: strengths, torques, forces)

  • NI LabVIEW and TestStand Experience considered beneficial

  • Experience with Automation equipment (Sensors, I/O, PLC programming (Beckhoff or similar), Robotics, Scanners

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Photography or Videography advantageous

  • Experience in automated machine assembly, including machine acceptance and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).

  • Proficiency C/C++, MATLAB, Labview or Python desirable
