Buying Manager - Cider & Ale - Asda House

We have an exciting opportunity for a  Buyer to join our team! This role sits within the fast paced Beer category, within the wider Drinks area.

You will be tasked with managing a diverse product portfolio across Cider and Ale in a dynamic and competitive market. This role represents a fantastic opportunity to build on existing buying skills in an innovative category with an extensive supply base.

As a Buyer within Beer, you will work collaboratively with key suppliers and with internal stakeholders alike in order to deliver sales, pricing and growth ahead of the market while helping to manage the category P&L. 

You will negotiate and deliver business plans as well as understand customers and implement strategies that meets their needs. 

You will also need to understand, track & negotiate around key commodities and deliver savings with suppliers to ensure great value for our customers.

• Previous experience working in a similar role 

• Strong commercial awareness and being highly numerate, including P&L management  

• An understanding of customer requirements, market trends and competitors 

• The ability to spot and act on market opportunities quickly, delivering competitive advantage  

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence a diverse, branded supplier base 

• Experience leading and collaborating as part of a cross functional team 

• Coaching and development skills, supporting and influencing others 

• Result focus with a solution-based mindset
