Manufacturing Technologist

Description -

What a Manufacturing Technologist does at HP:

  • Support Ink Plant Maintenance activities - equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, calibration and innovation projects, including all applicable forms of Smart Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Provide Day-to-Day operational support to all manufacturing activities in the to sustain operations within operating specifications, perform appropriate levels of maintenance and unscheduled troubleshooting to equipment to maintain the highest uptime, MTTR and MTBF, including liaison with OEM for support.
  • Demonstrate capability to characterize process output parameters with respect to equipment performance, reliability issues, perform root cause analysis and recommend and implement corrective or preventive actions, including using Data Analytic techniques and other Smart manufacturing techniques such as Internet of Things and 3D manufacturing.
  • Adopt good TPM approaches to utilize appropriate levels of spares and consumables to maintain cost effectiveness.
  • Lead equipment reliability programs to improve equipment uptime and implement Kaizen projects to improve productivity/Smart Manufacturing, quality, safety and reduce cost.
  • Proactively practice and adhere to BBS, EHS and ISO standards to ensure continual compliance to all procedures and processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality  and lab teams to always maintain the excellent quality in produced product.
  • Work closely with process and product engineers on the product qualification, testing and approvals as pre-requisite for Manufacturing Release.
  • Collaborate with overseas counterparts to achieve cost, quality, availability and reliability metrics. Ensure convergence in comparable ink quality and performance level partner site
  • And any other ad hoc duties assigned by the supervisor

Individuals who will do well in this role usually possess:

  • Diploma or higher Nitec/Nitec in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Competent on analytical problem solving, statistical methods and process control.
  • Experienced in working with equipment such as Hydraulic, motors pumps, VFD, Programmable Logic Controls such as Allen Bradley/ Rockwell and GE, Control Panels and controller circuits, Repair and Troubleshooting of electronic boards or robotics or mechanical components will be advantageous
  • Prior experience in ink, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, or chemical manufacturing will be an added advantage, including working knowledge of EHS and PPE requirements, Safe Chemical Handling practices and ISO quality and procedures will be advantageous
  • Able to work rotating shift (day/night) and overtime if required
  • Communicates effectively across functions, levels and geographies.
  • Independent, self-driven and able to work well in a team setting.
  • Able to work effectively under challenging and tight timeline, independently with minimum supervision.
  • Able to contribute and work towards achieving common goals & objectives through teamwork.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft office applications and Statistical Process Control (SPC) will be an advantage.
