About the Role

The Site Merch Manager role is part of a dynamic and high-performing team that prides on blending the art and science of site merchandising. Here, you’ll have an opportunity to develop and lead team through the end-to-end site experience pipeline and ensuring it aligns with the product to site, promotional messaging, pricing, marketing, campaign & collaborations launch strategies. You will partner with fellow Site Merchandising and key cross functional leads in Merchandising, Marketing, Digital Operations, Promotions, Sample and Photo Studio teams to produce a best-in-class online shopping experience. Your talent for leading flawless execution will be key to bringing product strategies to life across multiple customer touchpoints throughout the digital journey.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and lead divisional site strategies that aligns with preseason investment, product aesthetic, brand initiatives and organizational goals that produces a customer-first, frictionless site experience.
  • Lead site and content launches for collaborations, brand campaign, commercial plan, HP, email and social in partnership with Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, Digital Operations, and PDM.
  • Monitor site analytics, customer engagement metrics, market trends, competitive insights, and brand product direction to optimize short-term performance and to inform long-term strategies.  Provide in-depth site reporting and insights to CFT Leads, identify performance opportunities and solutions.
  • Produce a best in class, visually appealing merchandising experience that drives optimal conversion, SOT, and findability while maximizing customer engagement throughout the browse path.
  • Leads the strategic intent for seasonal shot requests & strategy, product tags mapping and taxonomy setup that is effective, competitive, intuitive and customer facing.
  • Manages weekly site review meetings to discuss upcoming collaborations, campaign, content launches, promotions, email, special product launches, and shifts to navigation.
  • Lead and implement site strategies for third-party vendor tools including product recommendations, outfitting, search results, and SEO to drive an optimal customer experience and support test initiatives.
  • Model and ensure an accurate and high-quality level of work across the site, with an understanding of its impact on the customer experience.
  • Manages the QA and review of the site daily to ensure proper setup of navigation, product mapping and promotions that follows the strategic intent.
  • Partner with key cross functional partners to test, implement, provide customer driven insights, and operationalize site technologies and capabilities.  Act as a SME captain for 1+ site technologies.
  • Continuously keeping up to date competitively on the latest digital trends, site taxonomy and setup, collections, special shops, and overall tech.
  • Manage team of direct report(s), providing development, coaching, motivation, support, and feedback.  Promote and model Gap Inc values.  Create a dynamic work environment that prioritizes teamwork, collaboration, agility, attention to detail, and drive.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of merchandising or ecommerce experience
  • Passionate about the customer, the online shopping experience with a keen eye to visual site merchandising
  • Ability to influence, collaborate and build strong relationships with cross-functional leaders
  • Must have strong technical and analytical skills with ability to use data to assess the business and drive decisions and shift strategies
  • Excellent understanding of merchandising, e-commerce, digital platforms & technology, and multi-channel retailing
  • High level of initiative and organization, with the ability to manage ambiguity, uncertainty and changing directions in a fast-paced dynamic environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to varying levels of leadership
  • Excellent computer skills, fluent in Microsoft Excel, Airtable, Miro, PIM system, and 3rd party digital tools
