Job Description Summary:
The RN Lactation Consultant is an expert in the management of the breastfeeding mother. This position: participates in the development and implementation of lactation services including: clinical, educational, rental and retail; provides care through individual consultation, group teaching sessions, telephone help line education, and rental/retail services; participates in research, process changes, and development of procedures, policies and education materials; is an interdisciplinary team member, mentor and resource; and may be required to perform the duties of a unit level registered nurse (limited to Ohio licensed registered nurses).Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree (Required)RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of NursingOhio Board of NursingOhio Board of NursingHighly developed interpersonal relationship skills. Advanced leadership, communication and clinical skills. Thorough understanding of the principles of adult education. Strong knowledge base in physiology and pathophysiology related to breastfeeding patient. Clinical experience in perinatal areas with focus on post-partum care.
