Responsibilities

Reporting to the Sr Manager Sales Strategy – Small Format, The Sales Strategy Planning Associate Manager supports the development of ISO & NCB category strategy and initiatives. This individual serves as a category expert and plays a key role in leading the development of the category initiatives at the corporate level.

 

Key Tasks, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Builds relationships through Marketing and Sales Planning partners to build brand health through competitive analysis and drive overall category growth.
  • Works with Brand Marketing to understand source of volume implications from competitive entries.
  • Works with Customer Development to drive execution of gold standard planogramming and perimeter
  • merchandising, build sub-segment category stories and drive overall display compliance.
  • Leads key strategy initiatives, including supporting cross functional teams with innovation commercialization and the execution tools leveraged by our sales team for sell in
  • Recommends improvements and innovative solutions to category-based activities.
  • Provides analytically based category support to the sales planning team through the business planning cycle to deliver AOP volume, share, and net revenue targets.
  • Communicates with corporate senior leadership on category understanding to ensure alignment and recommended strategy adjustments, with cross functional stakeholder alignment.
  • Helps build the organization by striving to achieve performance excellence in all facets of business planning and fosters an environment based on the notion of partnership among key business stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or a minimum of 3-5 years sales experience with track record of success on large, complex CPG customers.
  •  3-5 years’ experience in category management or sales
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data and team/project management experience
  • Strong Leadership Skills – ability to influence activities of individual team members towards goals
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to link strategies and objectives to develop a plan and drive action
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to send and receive information clearly and concisely
  • Strong teamwork skills: possess exceptional group facilitation skills
  • Strong planning/organizing skills: capable of managing major projects simultaneously Able to establish and attain high standards for self and team; able to make decisions and solve problems Education required
