To fulfill the charter of this new business initiative, there is need for top notch talent with expertise in Big Data and Distributed Systems. You would be working on challenging problems in terms of enhancing big data platforms to support data science initiatives. All the problems will require building solutions at Walmart scale. The best part is that your solutions will generate tangible and immediate business impact.


What you'll do:

Developing Data Strategy: Understands, articulates, and applies principles of the defined strategy to routine business problems that involve a single function.

Applied Business Acumen: Provides recommendations to business stakeholders to solve complex business issues. Develops business cases for projects with a projected return on investment or cost savings. Translates business requirements into projects, activities, and tasks and aligns to overall business strategy. Serves as an interpreter and conduit to connect business needs with tangible solutions and results. Recommends new processes and ways of working.

Scaling Systems: Build large scale systems to process customer data. Enable data scientists to run its model in batch and real-time. Continuous collaboration to scale the systems to support model inferencing.

Curiosity & Courage: Demonstrates curiosity and a growth mindset; fosters an environment that supports learning, innovation, and intelligent risk-taking; and exhibits resilience in the face of setbacks.

Digital Transformation & Change: Seeks and implements continuous improvements and encourages the team to leverage new digital tools and ways of working.

Customer Focus: Delivers expected business results while putting the customer first and consistently applying an omni-merchant mindset and the EDLP and EDLC business models to all plans.

Strategic Thinking: Adopts a holistic perspective that considers data, analytics, customer insights, and different parts of the business when making plans and shaping the team's strategy. Focus on our Associates.


What you'll bring:

Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 years' experience in software engineering and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related field OR 6 years' experience in software engineering or related field.

  • Experience in technologies like Spark, Scala, Kafka, and Hadoop. 

  • Experience with Airflow/Nifi, Kafka streams, Druid or similar technologies.

  • Experience of architecture, tools, and deployments in the hyper-scalers like GCP/Azure/AWS.

  • Experience in Java, data streaming and API.

  • Experience with data engineering to stream and process datasets at low latencies. 

  • Experience in operationalizing automated CI/CD pipelines of ML Models.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00
