Job Title: Junior Software Developer

Position Overview

As a Junior Software Developer on the Entrust IDV as a Service team, you will take an active role in the design and implementation of features for our cloud identity verification solution. This is a key initiative for Entrust and we’re looking for talented individuals to help us achieve this goal.

Responsibilities: 

Development

  • Mobile application developer in Native, Android or iOS to Design, develop, and implement mobile application. 

  • Applies knowledge of programming techniques to plan, develop, test and document computer applications. 

  • Work with team to design, build and implement enterprise-class secure production environment.

  • Creates, maintains and implements the source code; designs prototypes, specifies program unit structure and conducts verification on own designs. 

  • Assist and train team members to raise the team’s level of technical expertise

  • As a generalist, requires broad technical skills in server, network, hosting environment, database, business logic, API, front end, and back-end technologies.  This may include Android and/or iOS development. 

  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

Process

  • Work within a team environment using industry standard software processes.

  • Maintain a broad perspective and anticipates future challenges and opportunities.

  • Develop plans and strategies with a global perspective in mind.

  • Use creative approaches to solve problems.  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Development experience with Android Studio or iOS Xcode

  • Understanding of smartphone design principles and interface guidelines

  • Java and/or .NET programming/analysis experience and ideally experience with C#

  • Experience developing, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining the back-end services, models, processes, and databases that support the application

  • Experience designing, developing, and optimizing SQL relational databases

  • Experience creating RESTful APIs to connect applications to back-end services

  • Ability to stay up to date on new technologies and development techniques to improve application quality and construction efficiency

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree

  • Experience in Cloud Computing – AWS or equivalent

  • Knowledge of infrastructure tools including Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Jenkins, Git, IntelliJ. Working knowledge of Windows and Linux
