Warehouse Lead- 1st Shift (6am-2:30pm)- $25.88/hr - Lenexa, KS (Williams Foods)

Supervise and coordinate activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, managing inventory, issuing and shipping product in warehouse. Full time position that directs the activities of warehouse personnel involved in the receiving, production support, scheduling, inventory, and shipping of Williams Foods Products. Ensures that all policies and procedures are followed.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Includes the following essential functions and responsibilities: 

• Verifies incoming shipments, resolves discrepancies and examines for damage and cleanliness.
• Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining and shipping stock; and related problems.
• Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
• Schedules work for routine and special service to equipment.
• Verifies time cards and submits to payroll.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, cleanliness, neatness, safety and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
• Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
• Adjusts errors and complaints.
• Keeps Supply Chain Manager informed about problems, potential issues and status of work in progress.
• Keeps work area sanitary and orderly at all times.
• Timely investigation of all accidents and correct safety hazards to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Promote safety awareness and follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions and work-related accidents to Supply Chain Manager or Safety Manager immediately.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Other duties may be assigned by management based on business needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists warehouse Team Leader with development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures; ensures all established policies and procedures are followed by warehouse team.
• Leads all shipping, receiving, scheduling, activities performed by warehouse team;
• Maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees on warehouse floor throughout the shift.
• Leads by example and trains, motivates, coaches, rewards, and disciplines crew being
• supervised
• Monitors inventory control process.
• Resolves warehouse-related issues with representatives from other department throughout the company.
• Reviews, prioritizes, and organizes all outgoing orders.
• Schedules equipment maintenance as required.
• Forecasts crewing needs to meet peak demands of the business and staff team accordingly, fills in position when employee is absent or on vacation.
• Coordinates with the warehouse Team Leader to manage personnel issues and requests.
• Leads crew by example by loading trucks and/or performing other duties as necessary, with training following process and procedures.
• Performs administrative tasks as necessary. Including Gemba Meetings.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all warehouse operations
• Maintains safety programs and all required safety training for the crew.• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate must be results oriented, have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships at all levels, a passion for excellence, and familiarity with continuous improvement concepts.
• This position requires very strong leadership skills.
• Eligible candidates for this position preferably will hold a Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Management, Food Science, or any related Business related field, although not required.
• Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours.
