As a Database Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our complex database systems, ensuring optimal data integrity, performance, and security.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement efficient and scalable database solutions using Informatica PowerCenter and other ETL tools.

Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data.

Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support data manipulation and reporting requirements.

Conduct data modelling and schema design to optimize database performance and meet business needs.

Collaborate with stakeholders and business analysts to gather and analyse requirements for database projects.

Monitor and fine-tune database performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and data governance processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

Lead data migration and integration initiatives, ensuring the seamless transfer of data from legacy systems to new databases.

Collaborate with security teams to implement robust data security measures, including user access controls and encryption mechanisms.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in database technologies, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

Create and maintain technical documentation, including database schemas, data flow diagrams, and process workflows.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and system administrators, to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Database Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on Informatica and ETL processes.

Solid understanding of Database Management Systems, such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.

Proficiency in Informatica PowerCenter and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) for ETL processes.

Strong SQL programming skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.

Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and schema design.

Knowledge of data migration and integration techniques, including ETL best practices.

Experience in data quality management, data governance, and data security.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.

Relevant certifications in Informatica, ETL, or Database Management Systems (e.g., Informatica Certified Developer, Oracle Database Administrator Certification) are a plus.
