We’re looking for a Business Recovery Planning Intern - Hybrid in Ottawa


The intern will assist in the update and maintenance of the global Business Continuity Program (BCP) at Entrust. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Continuity, the candidate would assist in the update of all Business and Disaster Recovery Plans as part of the annual maintenance of the Program. The candidate will provide project management tasks between functional groups and other company business units, emphasizing regular communication with all stakeholders. The candidate will be expected to interact with the various support groups for the purpose of integrating information into the

recovery plans.

This role is hybrid, which means the selected candidate will work from our office located in Kanata, ON a portion of their time, based on company needs.

How you will make an impact: 

  • Gain an understanding of the BCP at Entrust.

  • Work with various stakeholders to update their recovery plans.

  • Schedule, attend, coordinate, and conduct stakeholder meetings.

  • Perform Program maintenance including updates to internal BCP resources.

  • Assist in the development of presentations to senior executives and internal employee groups to ensure continued awareness.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate of a Business Continuity, Emergency Management, or Safety and Security program.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  

  • Good with details, time management, and planning.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in Business Continuity/ Crisis Management/ Disaster Recovery, or related education.

  • Project/ Program Management skills and understanding of processes, risks, and controls.

  • Understanding of the Incident Command System.

  • Good working knowledge of NFPA 1600 and ISO 22301.

  • Ability to work in a global team.
