We’re looking for a Junior Software Developer (Payment and Identity) - Ottawa based

 

As a Full Stack Software Developer on the Payment and Identity team, you will take an active role in the architecture, design and development of the new Payment and Identity cloud platform.  You will work collaboratively with management and peers in a tightknit, fast paced development environment leveraging Agile best practices. This is a key initiative for Entrust and we’re looking for talented individuals to help us build our world class platform.

This role is hybrid, which means the selected candidate would have an opportunity to work from our office located in Kanata, ON a portion of their time, based on company needs.

How you will make an impact:   

Development

  • Responsible for the full-stack design and implementation of new product capabilities

  • Ensure new features have automated tests to promote rapid and stable development.

  • Work with team members to build positive and smooth end-user experiences.

  • Work with documentation team to ensure new features are properly documented.

Process

  • Collaborate within a team environment using Kanban software processes.

  • Provide peer review feedback on user interface design and code quality.

   

Qualifications:  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

  • 2+ years commercial Java application development

  • 2+ Experience with React and TypeScript

  • Experience with Postgres or another relational database

  • Experience with application design and web services API design

  • Proficient in written and verbal English language. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Please include GitHub Profile in your resume

  • Experience with Micronaut framework or similar (Spring Boot, Quarkus)

  • Experience developing micro-service applications in Kubernetes

  • Experience building cloud applications in AWS

  • Familiarity with web application security best-practices (CORS, CSRF, XSS, JWT, OIDC, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Developer tools – Git, Jira, BitBucket, Confluence

  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.
