Within IQVIA’s Digital Product & Solutions Office of Commercial Technology, sits our Product Management Suite, our mission is to build world class product suites to meet and predict the needs of our global Life Science customers. We will achieve this by leveraging experience and skillsets of all team members; providing common governance & process across our product suites, utilizing greater customer insight and market intelligence.

Senior Director, Product Management, COE and Governance. May telecommute (work from home on EST hours) within commuting distance of the Bridgewater, NJ office location to attend in-person meetings when required. Define and govern end-to-end product management processes across entire product portfolio within Digital Products and Solution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain consistent end-to-end product management process and standards across all the products.
  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring each product adhere to these processes and standards.
  • Manage the teams or groups that require centralization to ensure standards into various portfolios within the DP&S product suite – initially includes the UI/UX team which could expand to include others. 
  • Process governance includes definition of the process, keeping the process up-to-date and ensuring product teams adhere to common processes and standards across all the products:

Requirements and Roadmap:

  • Consistent product feature / enhancement in-take process across all the channels i.e., internal and external stakeholder. Define structure / standards for enhancement requests, tools such as CSM for submission and visibility of request status and follow-ups.
  • Standards / structure / guidelines for requirements documentation, and tools ex: JIRA / Confluence
  • In collaboration with product team, establish guidelines for qualifying enhancements / features and guideline. Keep the guidelines up-to date in alignment with IQVIA strategy, IQVIA regional business unit / business stakeholders’ priority, industry trends and market needs.
  • In collaboration with product team, establish guidelines and consistent process for feature / enhancement prioritization that involves internal / external stakeholders as applicable including IQVIA business units, delivery / support / operations, SI partners and customers.
  • Standards / templates for the roadmap (if applicable internal / external) Ex: consistent way to define scope in roadmap documents, consistent way with roadmap document structure Ex: More detailed roadmap for next release and future themes / priority backlog etc.
  • Consistent timeline for roadmap updates, common location(s) for publishing the roadmap, manage the visibility.

Design / Development:

  • Process for co-creation / collaboration with internal / external stakeholder including the customers during design / design reviews.
  • Process for collaboration between product owners and engineering such as scrum calls, sprint reviews and apply applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

User Acceptance Test (UAT) and Release:

  • Process and tools for User Acceptance Test (UAT) including roles and responsibilities, documentation and feedback, Product owner review of QA progress / issues and guidelines (including GxP and Non-GXP requirements) for Go/NoGo decision.
  • Establish release types and cadence Ex: Major, Minor / Monthly, Maintenance, Patch with clear definition and guidelines for features / enhancements / fixes that can go into each release type. 
  • For each product, establish release calendar with clear milestones from scope definition to launch Ex: scope finalization, reviews, development completion, sandbox release, internal / external release webinars and communications, Go/No decision and the release.

Communication / Documentation:

  • Types of communication(s), guidelines for the content and cadence Ex: Product Did you know?, What is New?, On-demand notifications of an incident / issue awareness, pre-release communication, release communication, best practices.
  • Types of documentation with each release and what documentation applies to each product, publishing the documents, access controls.
  • Consistent and standard process for internal and external release webinars

Commercial:

  • Product Rationalization – ability to understand the financials versus the product features and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in relevant product management
  • 5+ years of experience within the Life Sciences industry
  • Broad Management and Leadership knowledge to lead multiple job areas
  • Proven history of driving changes to best practices and approaches to product management
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with business leaders and technical teams

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $180,000.00 - $306,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
