Ribbon’s IP Transport Line of Business is looking for a Senior IP Business Development Professional to join our US based Regional Business Group (RBG).

Reporting to the head of the RBG, the Senior IP Business Development Professional will utilize their advanced IP Networking knowledge and work closely with the Ribbon Sales, Sales Engineering and Portfolio Management teams to grow the business in the region. Primary responsibilities include:

• Develop the IP transport business in target accounts in line with the regional strategic plan with the aim of “setting the table” to win. This includes working with key customer stakeholders to gain an understanding of the customer’s business objective(s), provide consultant design/business case on network transformation solutions, and drive customer technical engagement, all with the goal of creating the winning customer value proposition.
• Work with sales to create winning commercial offers, including owning responses to RFI and RFP, working with Product Line management (PLM) to validate required roadmap, building business case with profitability and cash flow, and helping sales negotiate to closure.
• In line with regional business plan, own regional portfolio requirements as input to PLM for inclusion into overall portfolio roadmap
• As subject matter expert, contribute to the development of the strategic business plan for the region, which includes market segmentation, competitive analysis, target customers and associated break in strategy, required product solution
• Work with Marketing to orchestrate the marketing plan for target accounts

Qualifications:

• Appropriate degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer science with MBA or equivalent a plus
• 8+ years of experience in a business development role in networking / telecommunications
• Strong understanding of MPLS and IP forwarding and VPN services, including:
  • IPv4 and IPv6 protocols
  • MPLS forwarding and associated protocols (LDP, RSVP-TE)
  • IGP Protocols (OSPF and IS-IS)
  • BGP including BGPv4 and MP-BGP
  • Layer 2 services (VPLS and point-to-point layer -2 VPNs) LDP and BGP signaling, EVPN
  • IP-VPNs using the MP-BGP protocol
  • IPv4 and IPv6 Multicast
  • Segment Routing
• Excellent technical expertise in Telecommunications, IP Networking, Embedded Systems and Network device management interfaces and models such as Netconf, Yang, SNMP, CLI and Transactional configuration models
• Knowledge in mobile transport solution and 5G would be an advantage
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong strategic and analytical skills
• Strong presentation skills - oral and written
