The Role:

We have an immediate opening for a collaborative, experienced, and self-motivated Solutions Architect in the Americas region. As part of the Ribbon Sales Engineering Team, you will collaborate closely with the CTO office, PLM, and Engineering to drive technical sales activities for emerging technologies and network evolutions promoting the complete portfolio across service provider and enterprise sectors.

The successful candidate will be the technical lead for all Ribbon solutions across all the software and hardware portfolio. This role involves presenting to executive-level decision-makers on next-generation technologies and requires strong coordination with Ribbon’s senior leadership.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide strategic and technological guidance to the sales team, support development of sales engagement plans to achieve annual bookings and / or revenue budgets.
  • Architects work closely with CTO office on path-finding missions and develop POCs and customer demonstrations to drive technical sales activities for opportunities in forward-looking and emerging technologies as well as new network evolutions.
  • Work closely with the Sales, Channels, Project Managers, PLM and other stakeholders to identify, qualify and then win new opportunities.
  • Provide input to regional marketing plans and collaborate with Portfolio Marketing to share regional requirements and market insights.
  • After an appropriate training period, possess in-depth, hands-on expertise with Ribbon products, solutions as well as other opensource or third-party technologies which complement Ribbon’s technology vision.
  • Architects are well known in the industry, participating in talks as well as standardization activities (IETF, GSMA, ORAN etc.).
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and network within the industry at CTO level to keep Ribbon position and communications at a high level. 
  • Create and retain positive ongoing relationships with the customers and partners to present and promote the company’s portfolio.
  • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, and industry trends.
  • Minimum 40% Travel required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or other relevant subject.
  • 15+ years relevant industry experience in fixed and mobile VoIP, IP networking and SDN domains.
  • Deep understanding of telecommunication technology, market and trends.
  • Experience in pre-sales selling networking equipment or network solutions.
  • Formal or informal technical sales leadership or mentoring – advantage.
  • Proven ability to present at both technical and decision-making levels in the appropriate way, articulate benefits and value propositions accordingly to connect technical solutions with customers' business requirements.
  • In-depth expertise in multiple technical domains, including IP Systems, Optical Systems, SBCs, SD-WAN, Network Edge Orchestration, policy and routing, media gateways, applications platforms, and cloud communications solutions.
  • Knowledge of merchant silicon technologies (Trident, Tomahawk, Jericho, etc.)
  • Certifications such as JNCIE, CCIE, CKA/CKD, AWS, etc. – advantage.
  • Must be a permitted to work in country of residence within the territory. 
  • Excellent team player looking to make a real impact with good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers at all levels including CxO level.
  • Existing network of in region service provider contacts – advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills on complex technical and sales issues to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and Salesforce CRM.

Languages:

  • English fluent verbal and written, additional languages are a plus.
