Software Engineer Summer Internship

Opportunity Summary

Ribbon Communications is a cutting-edge technology company that delivers communications software, IP and optical networking solutions to service providers, enterprises, and critical infrastructure sectors globally. We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our team as Summer Interns for Deployment Automation Engineering. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in developing Ansible playbooks for the deployment automation of our software products.  

What you will do:

• Work closely with the Software Engineering, Product Verification and Service Delivery teams to understand deployment requirements.
• Design, develop, and optimize Ansible playbooks for automating software deployment processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Ansible playbooks into the existing deployment pipeline.
• Troubleshoot and debug deployment automation issues, providing timely resolutions.

Education and Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Understanding of software development and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with Ansible or other configuration management tools.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Previous work experience is not required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Understanding of network protocols and security principles.
